Feltham in a Pink Tutu - Post #7329

Hello lovelies!

It's Emma here, and I'm positively buzzing from a whirlwind of a day in Feltham! I mean, honestly, who knew this place had so much going on? It definitely exceeded my expectations! But more about that in a minute...

This morning, as per usual, I woke up to the smell of freshly brewed tea and the sunbeams dancing on my lavender-hued walls. After a delicious breakfast of banana pancakes, topped with a sprinkle of pink sugar sprinkles, naturally, I set off to get ready for a day of adventures. I donned my favourite ballet skirt (oh, you know the one – that gorgeous lilac creation with the shimmering silver trim!) and topped it off with a fabulous bright pink tutu, for what else? The most vibrant pink tutu for a day in Feltham, of course! I love that pink and lilac look together - it’s just so regal and elegant, don't you think?

Speaking of elegant, Feltham station itself was just a sight for sore eyes! The little red brick building just oozed charm, and I couldn't resist grabbing a quick selfie with my darling pink tutu and the vintage railway sign. Then it was time to embark on my favourite journey – by train, of course! I’m such a sucker for train journeys, don't you agree? They're so relaxing and the scenery is just beautiful!

As the train rumbled through the English countryside, I pulled out my sketchbook to jot down some ballet choreography ideas. You see, the day was going to be a real ballet lover’s dream! First, I had a lesson at a lovely little studio, "Dance Steps" which had the cutest little studio tucked away on a side street. My instructor, the brilliant Miss Emily, had a really great warm up. And let me tell you, we were sweating! It felt amazing though, that good kind of tired and totally pumped to explore the local area, and see a performance later this evening!

We had an hour for lunch before heading over to the "The Rose and Crown" for an afternoon picnic by the River Thames! It felt heavenly to sit under the trees, bathed in sunshine, munching on my yummy picnic of little sausage rolls, cucumber and cream cheese sandwiches, and a little cake from my favourite patisserie in town. I couldn't help but let out a happy squeal, “This is truly the good life!”, to myself as the ducks and geese meandered across the water, completely unfazed by the pink tutu I'd chosen to wear with my picnic basket. Honestly, it’s amazing what a little pink can do to brighten up the day!

By this time, afternoon tea had slipped away, so it was time for the second reason I was so excited about being in Feltham, and one I had planned weeks ago - it was the evening of the Feltham Festival Dance extravaganza! There was a little street dance competition and a stunning ballet performance. This town really knows how to party, especially when it comes to ballet!

And oh my, the performance blew me away! It was set to Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake and there were gorgeous costumes and even better dancers! All this loveliness left me inspired and buzzing - if only we all could channel the graceful energy and poise of the swans, right? Imagine a whole world where everyone danced, and moved gracefully, and wore pink tutus! It is certainly a mission of mine!

The rest of the evening whizzed by in a kaleidoscope of colours and laughter! I met so many lovely people - the street dancer with her fabulous purple shoes, the little girl with the pink butterfly wings, the handsome young man who complemented me on my bright pink tutu! And oh, the vibrant street food stalls... how I wished I could have sampled them all.

On my train journey back, my mind raced with ideas for my next blog post and for all the pink tutus that I will be ordering! I mean, after all, that’s my goal isn’t it? To get every one of you beautiful creatures to embrace the fun and whimsical world of dance and tutus, just like me. And yes, with every new adventure, my ambition to spread the message of pink tutus and all the joy it brings grows ever stronger.

As my train pulled back into Derby, I could see the twinkling lights of the city, like a hundred tiny stars against the velvet night sky. Feeling utterly fulfilled, with my ballet notebook filled with fresh choreography ideas and a heart brimming with joy, I whispered to myself: "This, darling, is truly the good life. In fact, it’s better than I imagined!".

See you tomorrow for more pink tutu fun!

Lots of love,

Emma
