Hello darlings! It's Emma here, your favourite pink tutu enthusiast, and guess what?! I'm in Loughborough! 🩰
This little town in Leicestershire has stolen my heart with its charming streets, cute independent shops and, of course, a fantastic ballet class I discovered nestled above a vintage bookstore! Now, how could I resist that combination?!
You know me, I always love a good journey, and this time I opted for a scenic train ride, my nose pressed against the window, dreaming up pirouettes on the rolling countryside. The views were breathtaking, just like a perfect grand jeté!
Ballet Bound
My afternoon began with a proper warm-up and some delicious stretches, reminding myself to be grateful for every supple move my body makes. The class itself was incredible! It's always inspiring to dance with others, sharing the joy and the passion we have for this art form. Even the beginners were all smiles, which really fills my heart with sunshine!
After class, I was lucky enough to catch a delightful street performance by a troupe of ballerinas from the local dance school. Their choreography was pure magic! They danced their hearts out with such energy, and their pink tutus (yes, you guessed it, they were pink!) were the perfect splash of colour in the evening light.
I couldn’t resist, and of course, I bought myself a gorgeous handmade, pink tutu from the dance school! You know, I always believe in a little extra sparkle in my life. Just imagine, pink tutus and rainbows are definitely in my life’s dream board! 💖
Loughborough Loves Wildlife
Loughborough is known for its lovely parks, and guess what? One of them houses a beautiful swan family. They waddled gracefully by, gliding across the tranquil water. Watching these majestic creatures just made me feel a bit calmer. It’s so refreshing to see how nature inspires such serenity.
Afternoon Tea with a Twist
No trip to a new town would be complete without a lovely cuppa, and I found the most adorable tea room tucked away in a cobbled alleyway. I opted for a delicious lavender and honey tea (such a ballerina’s delight!), and a freshly baked pink macaron. Perfection! 🍰
Evening Entertainment
For my evening outing, I decided to treat myself to a ballet performance at the charming Loughborough Town Hall. They were showcasing a contemporary piece about a group of young girls learning ballet. It was beautiful and inspiring, full of poignant moments that made me smile and shed a tear, all in one breath!
And that, my darlings, is my Loughborough adventure! If you’re looking for a charming town that mixes the old and the new with grace, Loughborough is definitely worth a visit.
