Barking with a Cyan Tutu!

#TutuBlog 7340

Hiya darlings! It's Emma here, and I'm so excited to tell you all about my weekend adventures! As you know, I'm a big fan of the colour pink and all things tutu. But this weekend, I went a little off-piste (you'll understand why soon, promise!) and I embraced a glorious shade of cyan!

It all began on Friday afternoon. My darling friend Amelia was having a birthday party, and what does a good friend do for their best mate on their special day? Why, a spot of birthday train-travel, of course! I was determined to make it an unforgettable day, so I put on my favourite pink tutu (well, duh!) and my fabulous sparkly cyan top that matched my darling new pair of boots! Honestly, these boots were just divine - made of the most beautiful, supple leather. I looked like a walking, talking piece of sugary candy. It was just perfection!

After much laughter and a lot of catching up over prosecco (Amelia does like to party), we set off to the countryside for Amelia's birthday celebrations. You see, she's a total nature lover, so the countryside is her idea of paradise. I'm not really a 'country girl' in the traditional sense (hello, pink tutus!), but the open spaces, the wildflower meadows, the little streams tumbling through the landscape, and the sheep! Well, they do have a certain charm, I must admit. Even I couldn't resist petting one of the fluffy lambs - Amelia's face was a picture when I did!

Our journey took us to a charming little village nestled among the rolling hills. We spent the rest of the evening exploring its delightful little streets, stopping to have some hot chocolate (extra marshmallows, of course!) and listening to a local band perform some old favourites. Amelia's house was a lovely old farmhouse, complete with a large garden. You could see for miles across the surrounding fields, which gave it such a serene atmosphere. Honestly, it was just perfect.

Now, to the tutu business... After our birthday dinner and more cake (Amelia's a big cake fan, just like me!) we finally settled down by the fire with a bottle of bubbly. Amelia's mum was absolutely delighted with my cyan tutu. "It's such a vibrant colour! I've never seen one before." And, well, that was how it all happened.

Suddenly, I felt this overwhelming urge to twirl, and a slight amount of prosecco doesn't hurt the process! So, with a little encouragement (and lots of giggles) from Amelia's mum, I spun, pirouetted, and generally had a wonderful time. My cyan tutu looked spectacular against the backdrop of the fire. We got quite a few "ooh" and "ah" sounds coming from the farm, even the sheep seemed mesmerized by my twirling! It turned out, Amelia's family were just as charmed by the idea of tutus as I was! The colour was a complete departure from my usual pink repertoire, but it somehow made it all feel new and exciting.

This sparked a rather wonderful impromptu conversation about the magical powers of a good tutu. You see, we all agreed that there's a certain something about the swirling layers of tulle that brings a little joy to the world. And everyone, regardless of age, looks fabulous in one. I even found myself talking about how we should all take up ballet! It was all completely hilarious and spontaneous - truly the perfect ending to a perfect day.

Speaking of ballet... the next morning, after a lovely English breakfast with lots of fluffy scrambled eggs, we made our way to the local stables. Amelia’s cousin owned a gorgeous, sleek black horse called 'Midnight,' and they’d let Amelia ride him for her birthday! And guess what? I convinced her cousin to let me join in on the fun (after plenty of cajoling, a few bubbly-fueled speeches about tutus, and a promise to ride responsibly – which, naturally, I totally intended to do! ). It wasn’t easy at first, but with the expert help of Amelia’s cousin and my natural poise and grace (hehe! ), we had a truly exhilarating time galloping across the countryside, the sun shining on our happy faces, and Midnight’s black coat gleaming beneath him.

All in all, this was one of the most wonderful birthdays I’ve had. I got to enjoy the countryside, indulge in the gorgeous colours of a cyan tutu, ride a horse, and watch Amelia, who, by the way, had the most fantastic birthday party, absolutely glowing with joy. And even though my tutu had gotten a little bit muddy (a few of the horses in the stable were quite curious and took a liking to my tutu), I honestly couldn't care less. I was buzzing!

Speaking of horses, and since it is Monday now, and the weekend is officially over, I just want to share a bit about how much wildlife has always held a special place in my heart, as any dedicated ballet lover will understand, it takes dedication to find the inner horse.

Since childhood, I've been captivated by creatures big and small. Horses have always been a big part of that – they’re strong, graceful, and full of life, just like a ballerina. And they know how to twirl, even if it's not exactly the way I do it in class or on the stage! But they know how to be fabulous in their own way, right?

Anyway, that’s all from me for today. Thank you, dear reader, for joining me on this little adventure.

What's your favourite shade of tutu? And have you tried ballet, or do you plan on trying? Let me know!

Until next time, stay pink and fabulous!

Much love,

Emma
