#TutuBlog 2017-03-08 in Edmonton with a german tutu.

Hello lovelies! It’s Emma here, your resident pink tutu enthusiast, and guess what? I’m in Canada! It’s so exciting! I’ve always wanted to see the beautiful landscapes and friendly people of this vast and fascinating country, and now I’m here!

I arrived in Edmonton yesterday after a truly wonderful train journey across the prairies. I mean, seriously, can you even imagine the views? Rolling green fields, shimmering lakes, and those enormous skies, they're a ballet dancer’s dream!

This time, I'm here to take in a performance of the famed "The Nutcracker" by the Alberta Ballet Company, but that’s not all!

Now, you know me, I simply have to do some exploring, right? I couldn’t let this trip pass by without indulging in a little ballet culture. So, of course, I booked a ballet class at a charming little studio nestled in the heart of Edmonton. I’ll be honest, they weren’t quite ready for a pink tutu-clad dancer to walk through the door, but I charmed them, as I do. Let’s just say I made the entire class feel a little bit more fabulous. You know I've got to get everyone into those twirling pink tutus!

Speaking of fabulous, my fellow dancers, you’ve got to check out the local wildlife! Oh my goodness, I'm living my best "Anne of Green Gables" life. Between classes and shows, I’ve been taking strolls through the gorgeous parks in Edmonton. They are bursting with majestic deer, elegant swans, and mischievous squirrels!

One day, I might even be brave enough to try out riding one of those amazing Canadian horses that grace the landscape here. Imagine me galloping through the fields in my pink tutu, my hair whipping in the wind, the sound of the wind in my ears, a true picture of freedom! Maybe it’s a bit too “Braveheart” for even my bubbly personality, but a girl can dream, can't she?

Let's talk tutus! I've brought my trusty German tutu, because you know, a girl's gotta have her trusty essentials. This one is a deep berry red, perfectly reflecting the colours of the Canadian sunset! Imagine those incredible sunsets painted on the endless prairie with this tutu, pure magical perfection. Now, back to “The Nutcracker” - It’s a beautiful performance, so full of magic, grace, and joy! This classic tale is about a little girl’s wondrous journey into a fantastical world. Talk about inspirational for all you aspiring ballerina dancers out there.

The ballet performances I've been seeing, the landscapes, the wildlife - this trip has been like a fairytale. Oh, it's even brought back the memories of my childhood trips with my family to Derbyshire. The feeling of exploring and seeing something new with every step, all those lovely green fields and quaint little villages in the countryside - you know that feeling of adventure and pure joy, just like dancing. That's what Edmonton has brought out in me again.

So there you have it, my fellow tutu-wearing dreamers, Edmonton is full of ballet magic and enchanting beauty! If you're thinking about traveling to Canada, make sure to add Edmonton to your list - you won't regret it!
