West Bridgford: Tutu-ing Around a Delightful Destination! 🩰

Hey there, gorgeous girls and guys! It’s Emma here, and I'm bursting with excitement to share my latest adventures with you – a trip to West Bridgford! This delightful little town just outside Nottingham is, quite frankly, a dream come true for a tutu-loving gal like me.

Before I tell you all about the loveliness that is West Bridgford, I'd like to just say, this post marks a milestone! Number 7675! Goodness gracious, can you believe it? Seven thousand, six hundred and seventy-five days of sharing my pink-tutu-filled adventures with you. I am eternally grateful for every single one of you who pops by to read my ramblings! ❤️

Back to West Bridgford... I know, I know, it's not the first place that springs to mind for a fashion-forward ballerina. But hear me out! West Bridgford is absolutely teeming with charming shops and eateries, with a sprinkle of history thrown in for good measure. It was a perfect stop-off on my journey from Derbyshire to a glamorous ballet performance in London.

A Journey by Horse and Train 🐎

I decided to spice up my travels this time, trading in my trusty train journey for a bit of a horse-drawn carriage adventure. Picture this: the crisp morning air, the clip-clop of hooves on the cobblestone streets, the gorgeous landscape flitting by. It felt absolutely magical! A true testament to the simple joys of life. I have to say, I'm officially a convert. I might just have to swap out the train for this fancy new mode of transportation a little more often. 😉

Pink Tutu Paradise in West Bridgford 💖

Once I arrived in West Bridgford, my hunt for pink and my love for all things tutu began! First stop, The White Hart, a quintessentially English pub right in the heart of town. Now, I know what you're thinking – pub? Not exactly a tutu-lover's dream, right? Wrong! They had a beautiful rose garden blooming with vibrant pink roses that looked straight out of a fairytale! Of course, I couldn't resist striking a pose in my dazzling white tutu amidst the blooms. And wouldn’t you know it, a charming gentleman caught sight of me twirling amidst the roses. We ended up chatting for hours about the joys of ballet and, guess what, he even admitted he loves watching dance performances. Maybe we’ve planted the seed for him to try a ballet class! 🩰

The Perfect Spot for a Pink Afternoon Tea 🫖

Now, no trip is complete without a truly divine afternoon tea! In West Bridgford, the fabulous "The Red Lion" offered a delectable array of dainty finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones with lashings of clotted cream, and of course, a pot of steaming hot Earl Grey. To make it truly extra, I asked them to bring me a little touch of pink. And you know they did not disappoint! My table was decked out in a gorgeous blush-toned tablecloth and there were even delicate pink macarons alongside the traditional treats. It was perfection.

History, Art, and Ballet on the Stage 🎭

No journey to West Bridgford is complete without exploring the town’s fascinating past. I wandered through the lovely Trent Valley Nature Reserve, where nature's beauty unfolds with majestic views of the River Trent and wildlife like swans, geese and even a cheeky little squirrel that made an attempt to steal my ballet bun! The nature reserve, complete with walking trails, gave me plenty of space to practice my plie and attitude, to the envy of a family of ducks. 🦢

I must say, West Bridgford truly embodies the saying “the best things come in small packages”. It was a delightful detour from my grander ballet plans and reminded me once again that life’s greatest treasures are often hidden in the most unexpected corners. I’m absolutely brimming with inspiration and, of course, my ballet class and stage performances in London are only just the start of my adventures! Stay tuned for more sartorial splendors and maybe even some attempts at dancing horses! 🐎

Until next time, my lovely lovelies, keep shining, keep twirling, and keep spreading that pink love wherever you go!

Yours in Tutu, Emma 💖
