Hello my gorgeous ballet bunnies! It’s Emma here, and today's blog is coming to you from the lovely coastal town of Newtownards, Northern Ireland. The sun is shining, the air is crisp and I’m feeling incredibly inspired. My suitcase (stuffed to the brim with pink, obviously!) is ready, so let’s dive into my latest adventures.
Yesterday, after a lovely long train journey (I do love the gentle rhythm of the tracks and the charming chatter of fellow passengers), I arrived in Newtownards. The first thing that struck me was the gorgeous seaside air. As a Derbyshire girl, a gentle sea breeze is always a welcome change!
But before I got swept away by the charm of the harbour, I had to make a pitstop at the lovely little boutique here. I was on the hunt for the perfect white tutu – I can’t travel without at least one! You see, a tutu is my ultimate travel accessory. It’s lightweight, elegant, and instantly adds a touch of whimsy to any setting.
My white tutu has become a favourite - it’s the ultimate blank canvas, and today I’ve paired it with a blush pink ribbon and a touch of glitter on the bodice. The result? A ballet-inspired look perfect for a walk along the promenade, a picnic in the park, or even a impromptu dance session on the beach!
After my delightful boutique discovery, I strolled through the charming town, feeling the gentle sea air on my face and the warm sunshine on my skin. The colourful buildings were absolutely delightful, and I felt like I had stepped out of a watercolour painting. It's places like this that truly inspire me. I saw a gorgeous swan swimming on a tranquil lake in the centre of town. The water was so calm, I could almost see myself reflected in it, all smiles and a flash of pink tutu. I couldn’t resist snapping a photo - the beautiful bird with its elegant black and white plumage - pure perfection!
Today, the day is brimming with exciting ballet plans! I’m joining a lovely local dance class. Nothing compares to the feeling of flowing across the floor with grace, the feeling of music moving through me. The ballet community in Northern Ireland has such an incredibly warm welcome and I feel right at home.
Later this evening, I'm heading to a performance at a local theatre, featuring a mesmerizing ballet production set to music by the fabulous Debussy. It’s going to be a magical evening of graceful movements and hauntingly beautiful music.
However, let's be honest, my ultimate dance dream is to perform for everyone in a bustling square, right in the heart of Newtownards! A little ballet flash mob in a pink tutu for every passerby. Imagine the surprise, the joy, the magic! The possibilities truly excite me!
Speaking of dreams, another vision I hold dear is to encourage everyone to embrace ballet, no matter their age, size, or skill level. The beautiful art of ballet is about finding your inner strength, expressing yourself, and embracing the power of graceful movements. Who needs a grand stage, I say, when a park bench or the shore of the beautiful Newtownards harbour can be your stage?
