Hey loves! 👋 It's Emma here, bringing you the latest from my whirlwind tutu adventures! This week, I've swapped the rolling green hills of Derbyshire for the seaside charm of Broadstairs, Kent. The salty air, the pastel-coloured beach huts, the quaint cobbled streets – it's just so picture perfect! And, of course, no Emma trip would be complete without a seriously fabulous tutu. This time, I'm rocking a wide, airy, bubblegum pink tutu with layers of tulle that practically take flight with the sea breeze! 💖
I love travelling by train – it’s such a dreamy way to explore. Especially when it takes me through the countryside and you can see fields of wildflowers and adorable sheep! Speaking of dreamy, the train journey this time was all about ballet. I spent most of the journey practicing my arabesques, a little worried my tutu would get stuck on the seat, of course! But with a few strategic adjustments, and a sprinkle of good cheer, everything went smoothly.
Broadstairs is truly a ballet-lover's paradise! I started my day with a trip to the lovely seaside town of Margate, home to the Turner Contemporary gallery. It's one of my favourite galleries and the perfect place to find some serious creative inspiration. Afterward, I went for a stroll along the beach. I can’t get over the glorious colours – think sunshine yellows, cerulean blues and shimmering greens! And what’s more, it was filled with delightful sights! One cute family even had a little one in a tiny pink tutu – a future ballet superstar in the making! You can definitely catch me in that area doing pirouettes for photoshoots and soaking up all the beauty! 🤩
After all that fresh air, my stomach was grumbling, so it was off to find some delicious local cuisine! Broadstairs doesn't disappoint – we're talking charming little cafes, quirky bakeries, and traditional pubs that just ooze English charm! The cherry on top, you ask? They even have a ballet-themed cafe! 🩰🧁
Speaking of dreams, I had the most amazing ballet adventure yesterday! Imagine, a full moon, the crashing waves, a beautiful promenade and a magical outdoor performance – a true fairytale experience! I felt like I was in one of those beautiful stories I read in the ballet book library when I was a little girl. ✨ The atmosphere was electric! And the talent? Breathtaking! You see, I love all forms of ballet – theatre, street, traditional – it doesn’t matter! I just love it and there’s no better feeling than being part of a beautiful performance, surrounded by fellow passionate ballet fans!
Now, let's talk wildlife, because this little seaside town is teeming with it! I even had a very curious seal pup join me for a walk along the cliffs! Can you believe it? This adorable little creature, with its soulful eyes, decided to swim right up to me – it was absolutely magical! I’ll add that moment to the ‘Moments you never forget’ chapter in my mental tutu book. I promise to write all about it soon in a dedicated blog post – with plenty of photos of the cutest seal you ever saw! 😉
There's nothing quite like enjoying the great outdoors, the freedom to move, the sounds of nature… and of course, being surrounded by beautiful flowers. That’s why I always pack my signature pink ballet slippers for all my trips, along with my favourite pastel-coloured tutu and lots of gorgeous blooms from the local flower shops! You wouldn’t believe the amount of photos I get with the locals - they seem to just adore my love for all things pink and pretty! 🥰
Today, I'm making the most of the lovely seaside town. This includes a horse ride on the beach! Imagine me galloping on the sands, a big smile on my face and a beautiful tulle cloud floating behind me… Oh, the joy! 🎠
You know, I have a little theory. It goes something like this: A little bit of ballet and pink in your life goes a long way! It can bring so much joy, sunshine and happiness – just like Broadstairs has! If you’re ever feeling a bit down, why not try dancing like a ballerina or trying on a bright, fluffy, pink tutu? Maybe you’ll get a boost of energy like I do! 😄
