Hello lovelies! It's Emma here, and you won't believe where I've been! Carlisle! I know, a bit of a surprise, right? But trust me, it's been an absolutely magical trip, filled with history, wildlife, and of course, plenty of pink tutus! ✨
This is post number 7823, and as always, I'm so thrilled you've stopped by my little corner of the internet! If you're new, then welcome! I'm a Derbyshire lass who lives and breathes ballet, tutus (pink, naturally!), and exploring the world. My mission, should I choose to accept it, is to spread the joy of pink tutus and the magic of ballet far and wide!
This time, I opted for the scenic route - a train journey up north. The English countryside always has a way of calming my soul. There's something incredibly peaceful about watching the scenery roll by, letting your mind wander, and soaking up the atmosphere. Plus, you can't beat the joy of having your own little compartment on the train and putting the world on pause for a bit!
Carlisle Castle: A glimpse into history
Carlisle itself was like stepping into a fairytale! The star of the show has to be the impressive Carlisle Castle. This ancient fortress, with its towering walls and long history, gave me serious Game of Thrones vibes! I imagine those knights in shining armour galloping across the cobbled streets. ⚔️
It was truly captivating to walk through the castle grounds, learning about its history and imagining all the stories it could tell. The whole place exuded an air of grandeur and power, but also an intriguing sense of mystery and intrigue.
Fairy-themed fun and tutus!
Speaking of fairytales, it wouldn't be a true Emma adventure without a little fairy-themed tutu fun! Carlisle has such a charming old town centre, so I picked a quaint cafe with fairy lights twinkled around the windows. I pulled out my dainty blush pink tutu, perfect for dancing around like a fairy princess. The café owner was absolutely delightful - she even let me hang my tutu up to take some snaps!
You guys, it felt magical! I think I’ve finally perfected my "fairy in a pink tutu" pose. There were so many stunning spots for a photoshoot! The stone archways, the pretty gardens, and the ancient cobblestone streets made for the perfect backdrop to my pink tulle glory.
Animal Encounters in the Lake District
Carlisle was my stepping stone to the incredible Lake District. This landscape is something special! Think lush green valleys, breathtaking mountains, crystal-clear lakes, and enough sheep to fill a thousand fields! 🐑
I took a horseback ride through the countryside, stopping by a stunning vista for a moment of peaceful contemplation. Being up on horseback amongst nature just feels so incredibly liberating!
The Lake District is home to a variety of wildlife, from soaring eagles to playful otters. It felt like every time I looked up, I saw a beautiful bird soaring through the air, and if you were quiet enough, you could hear the faint tinkling of sheep bells in the distance.
The beauty of Ballet:
Carlisle even has a delightful little ballet school. You know how much I love spreading the ballet love, so I popped in to say hello and soak up some inspiration. I ended up staying a while, chatting to the lovely students about their passion for ballet. The energy in that studio was electrifying - it reminded me of how ballet has the power to make anyone feel like they can soar!
I’m always in awe of the artistry, the dedication, and the sheer power and elegance of ballet. Even watching from the audience, I’m completely drawn in. You can’t deny the magic and the way it captures your imagination. I think it’s the ultimate blend of athleticism and artistry - like poetry set to music, if you will.
A reminder of joy and inspiration
My time in Carlisle reminded me why I do what I do. Life is all about embracing those moments of pure joy, spreading kindness and positivity, and pursuing your passions, no matter what they may be! I believe in living a life full of color and magic, and sharing that joy with the world! So put on your most fabulous tutu, dance to your heart’s content, and never, ever stop believing in the power of a little sprinkle of fairy dust. 💖
