Hello lovelies! 💋 Welcome back to Pink Tutu, where every day is a chance to twirl and dream! Today’s post is all about my little adventure to Uxbridge – post number 7832! Yep, I’ve been keeping busy and keeping those creative juices flowing! 🌸
I can’t think of a better way to start the day than with a steaming cuppa (that’s British for tea for any newbies!) and my trusty pink tutu! 💗 This one is a little different – it’s got these lovely delicate lace appliques on it, you know, just to add that touch of extra fancy! 🥰 Then, a quick change into my comfy travel gear, which just so happens to include a vintage suitcase – pink, of course! 💋
This morning, the sun was just breaking through the mist over Derbyshire as I got ready to hop aboard the train! Trains are just such a fun way to travel. There's something so charming about watching the world rush by as you sip a hot cuppa and dream of the adventures to come! 🤩 Speaking of adventures, today's adventure was set in Uxbridge. That's right! Middlesex – my London adventure today. 💃
My plan? Uxbridge is the perfect location for combining my two loves, ballet and wildlife! You see, I just love to visit local theatre productions and catch performances – be it a beautiful ballet or an inspiring play – anything that ignites the imagination! And Uxbridge boasts some fabulously eclectic wildlife and beautiful parkland. 🦢 🐿️🌳 So, the day's itinerary is a carefully-constructed blend of these delights!
Arriving in Uxbridge with the pink tutu firmly in place, my first stop had to be the charming Uxbridge Arts Centre! This charming little theatre boasts an impressive calendar, with something for everyone. I have to say, the friendly folks who run this gem of a place are just fantastic, truly warm and welcoming. They’re a testament to the incredible talent and enthusiasm found all across the country for everything from the stage to the ballet barre. 🌸
Next on the agenda was a walk through the nearby grounds of the stunning Uxbridge College. This beautiful site houses a captivating sculpture trail, featuring work by talented local artists! I couldn’t help but twirl in delight at every piece. The contrast between the elegant sculpture, and the wild charm of the parkland, makes this a real joy to explore.
A quick visit to the grandly historic Harefield Place later, and the day had turned to twilight. Just before dusk, I took a leisurely stroll through the grounds of Cowley Manor, breathing in the tranquil atmosphere as the sun slowly made way for the moon. 🌿 🌙
And, just as I’d hoped, my walk brought me to Uxbridge Lake. Uxbridge Lake is a true gem – a little hidden paradise teeming with birdsong! I found myself surrounded by an astonishing variety of waterfowl. Seeing these majestic birds floating in such an idyllic setting just makes my heart soar – reminding me that even in a busy town, nature is just waiting to be appreciated. 🐦 🌊
It’s that sense of connection, you see? Ballet and wildlife – they both offer a touch of magic in our world. I love sharing this joy, this feeling of connection. The pink tutu – it’s all about breaking down those barriers, you know, showing the world that we are all capable of finding beauty, grace and happiness in everyday life, just as a dancer discovers joy in every pirouette. ✨
Time for a delicious dinner in Uxbridge and, to end this enchanting day, I’ve reserved tickets to see the captivating "Sleeping Beauty" at The Orchard Theatre! It promises to be a spectacular and enchanting evening and, who knows, perhaps I’ll be inspired to bust out some pirouettes of my own! 💖 I’ve already prepped a dazzling new pink tutu just for the occasion! 😉 And you’ll just have to wait to see it until my next blog post.
