Kenton Calling! šŸ©°

Hello darlings! Itā€™s Emma here, your favourite pink-tutu-clad ballerina, ready to take you on another enchanting adventure. Todayā€™s blog is all about a little jaunt to Kenton, a town I'd heard whispers about, and boy oh boy, it was even more fabulous than I imagined! This is post number 7937, so get ready to whirl your way through my daily dose of dance, style, and all things fabulous.

This morning I was absolutely bursting with excitement as I skipped off to the station in my sunshine yellow ballerina shoes. They matched my mood perfectly! I was so excited to be going to Kenton; they have a ballet festival running all weekend. I mean, how could I possibly resist?! I do love my dancing shoes and Kenton is meant to have some pretty stellar classes going on at the moment.

Thereā€™s nothing I love more than a train journey. Especially when you get to window-shop the countryside in your cute, bright pink outfit. Today, I decided to wear my black leotard, the one that feels as comfy as my favourite fluffy slippers, with a tulle overskirt I found at the local vintage shop in Chesterfield last week. To finish the look, my trusty pink headband - the perfect way to feel like a real-life ballerina princess, wouldnā€™t you say?

I felt like I was practically dancing on the train ā€“ thatā€™s the joy of wearing tulle, it makes you want to twirl and spin! Luckily, my fellow travellers were super understanding, some even gave me shy smiles and awwwwed at my ensemble, so I knew Iā€™d made a few peopleā€™s days more glamorous, hehe!

As I approached Kenton, my excitement levels reached a new peak. There was such a wonderful energy in the air - you could literally feel the buzz of creativity. I couldn't wait to jump into the heart of all things dance!

The town square was full of music and laughter; kids were giggling while doing their little pirouettes, there was a live string quartet serenading passers-by, and, most importantly, people of all shapes and sizes were confidently strutting around in tutus, leotards, and ballet shoes ā€“ even a few lads were sporting bright pink tights, bless their cotton socks! You see, darlings, I really believe everyone should wear a tutu, at least once in their lives!

The highlight of the trip had to be the ā€œBallet On The Streetā€ event. It was just magical! Imagine, a cobbled street transformed into a mini stage, with street performers, dancers of all ages, a troupe of synchronized swannies in stunning white tulle costumes (swans are my favourite birds, BTW!), and even a performance of Sleeping Beauty! Oh, it was simply dreamy, a true testament to the artistry of ballet and a celebration of the power of performance to unite and uplift.

Oh, and there were street food stalls! I managed to get my hands on some delicious gluten-free mini-quiches and a cup of lavender tea ā€“ divine! Nothing better than watching ballet outdoors with a cup of lavender tea in hand!

Of course, I wouldnā€™t be Emma if I hadnā€™t joined in some of the dancing myself. There were workshops on everything from ballet barre to ballet street. I opted for the latter, a wonderful exploration of bringing classical movements to modern music. We even had a go at freestyle dancing, inspired by the choreography of contemporary dancers - it was so much fun, I really wish I could have captured some of the movements on camera to share with you, darling!

I did, however, snap a few pictures of the beautiful Ballet On The Street spectacle, and a couple of selfies, dressed to the nines in my pretty pink tutu, of course. You know me, all about spreading the love for dance and a little touch of fabulousness!

Leaving Kenton that evening, I felt a surge of inspiration, ready to take my dancing to new heights.

Itā€™s moments like these that make my life feel truly extravagant - the energy, the shared joy, the communityā€¦ Itā€™s the beauty of dance! Thatā€™s why, darlings, I hope youā€™ll take a leap of faith, slip on a pair of pink tutus, and join me on this enchanting journey ā€“ because as far as Iā€™m concerned, the world is your stage!

Until tomorrow, keep twirling! šŸ©°
