Bridlington Bliss: Tutu Travels & Seaside Dreams 🩰🌊

Hey my gorgeous ballet babes! πŸŽ€

Welcome back to Pink-Tutu.com! It's Emma here, your resident pink tutu-wearing, ballet-obsessed adventurer. πŸ©°πŸ’– Today's post marks a whopping #7938 on this little corner of the internet dedicated to all things twirly and fabulous! Can you believe it?! 🀯

Today's story takes us to the beautiful seaside town of Bridlington, Yorkshire! 🌊 Now, some of you may know, I'm a big fan of travelling by train. There's just something about watching the countryside zip past that puts me in the best mood, especially when coupled with a steaming cuppa and a good book. This time, the journey took me across the Peak District, which I always find so inspiring. It's where my love for ballet first blossomed (literally, the studio was near the blossom-laden trees!). 🌳🩰

Anyway, I arrived in Bridlington and gasp! the sunshine was simply glorious. The crisp sea air and the smell of salt and sand made me want to spin and leap straight into the sea (well, almost!). But alas, my white leotard (oh, I love this one! It’s so flowy and perfect for twirling, especially in the wind!) wasn't really the best choice for a swim, so I decided to explore instead.

The charming harbour was buzzing with activity - fishermen unloading their catch, families enjoying ice cream, and a gaggle of delightful seagulls making themselves comfortable on the rooftops! 🌊🍦🐦 This made me want to practice my seagull impression, because you know I can't resist a little bit of performance art! 🐦🀣

Speaking of performances, I did have a fantastic surprise awaiting me! The Bridlington Spa was hosting a performance by the Royal Ballet Company. My eyes almost popped out of my head - it was fate, right? I'm always looking for the perfect opportunity to incorporate ballet into my travels, so I practically ran straight in there to book tickets!

Now, you know my obsession with ballet - it's an absolute must for me when I travel. Even though I was away from my home studio, I still found time to get a ballet class in! I love how it grounds me and centres me after all the travel and exploring. You could say that I’m in a bit of a tutu bubble… It truly is a way of life for me, and I hope to spread this infectious love for ballet with each blog post.

Speaking of which, you might notice a special something adorning my wrist this trip... whispers...a brand new charm bracelet! πŸ’Ž I picked up this adorable bracelet from a little artisan shop by the beach, and it has all sorts of charms representing the seaside - a seashell, a tiny seahorse, a little boat. It reminded me of my own ballet jewellery - tutus and ballerina shoes! My own jewellery is actually all custom-made and can be bought from my website - don't forget to check it out after you finish this post!

The next day, I went on an enchanting walk along the cliff tops. It was incredible to watch the crashing waves and breathe in the salty air, the scent of wildflowers adding a beautiful touch. Did I mention the dramatic sea stacks that rise up from the sea like giant, ancient sentinels? They were stunning! πŸŒŠβ›°οΈ I had to take a million pictures (yes, that's probably an exaggeration, but you get the picture!πŸ˜‚)

Speaking of pictures, did I tell you about the seal colony I discovered nestled in a rocky cove? They were just adorable, basking in the sun and chilling with their pals. I think we all know a little bit of the seal vibe... "Let’s chill and let the sun warm us.” πŸ˜„πŸ₯°

The following morning, after a breakfast of delicious local honey and freshly-baked bread, I hopped onto a horse and went on a picturesque ride along the beach. It's been a while since I've ridden a horse (the last time was in the beautiful Cotswolds), and let me tell you, it was heavenly! 🐎 I can't help but feel a little bit like I’m riding my tutu out on a white steed - a tutu-wearing horse rider is, after all, every dancer's dream, right? πŸ˜„βœ¨

After saying farewell to Bridlington (the sun was setting with the most magical golden light, I couldn’t help but want to stand there and twirl forever!), it was back to the station, back to the train, and back to my studio for a quick practice session before winding down for the night. The music filled the studio as my body felt lighter than ever. I even caught the reflection of my sparkly shoes, so fitting for the sparkling sea!

But before I sign off for the night, a few parting thoughts! If you ever get a chance to visit Bridlington, be sure to check out:

- The Bridlington Spa: With stunning architecture and a packed calendar of shows and events, this is a must-visit. I loved it, and it reminded me of my favourite theatre experiences. I’d even love to perform on the stage myself!

- Bridlington Harbour: You'll find plenty of places to eat, drink and explore the beautiful coastline.

- Bridlington Bay: This is a perfect spot for a bracing stroll along the beach, or if you're feeling more adventurous, you can take a trip out on a boat and see the amazing wildlife. I think we can all agree that there’s nothing quite like being at one with nature, the wildness of the ocean making your spirit feel alive.

And lastly, as I always say - it's time to add a bit of ballet to your life! You can learn about how to incorporate it into your travels in my next post! Don't forget, every step, every twirl, every leap is a chance to embrace the magic of movement and find your inner ballerina! And while you're at it, let's make this world a bit brighter by putting on some pink tutus and embracing life with a skip and a twirl! ✨🩰

Till next time my little ballerina blossoms!

With love and twirls,

Emma
