Billingham Bound in a Blush-Tastic Tutu! 🩰💖

Hello my darlings, and welcome back to Pink-Tutu! Today, my lovelies, I’m waltzing you all the way up North to the enchanting town of Billingham! 🚄 Yes, you heard that right, the gorgeous North East is calling! This adventure marks my 7939th post – how thrilling! Each day feels like a brand new pas de deux with the world. And guess what? It's all thanks to you, my gorgeous readers! You make it all so magical! 💖

You see, darling, I have a secret… I’m not a typical dancer! I might wear a tutu, but I’m a firm believer in spreading the love for ballet far and wide, and I like to take it off the stage and onto the streets. Think tutus on the tube, pirouettes at the petrol station… a touch of magic wherever I go! And you know what? It's contagious!

Billingham was beckoning me, calling out with its industrial charm. So, this morning, I kissed my beloved Derbyshire goodbye (it’s always so hard to leave!), threw on my favourite fuchsia frock and a brand new pink-tutu – the fluffiest one you ever did see, believe me! – and I hopped on the train to my new destination.

I absolutely love trains. It’s the ultimate freedom of travel. You just settle in, admire the view, and lose yourself in the world rushing by outside the window. And you never know who you might meet! It reminds me of one of my favourite quotes: “The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.”

The journey was divine, with glimpses of rolling hills and quaint villages flashing past the window like the opening sequence of a musical. I spent the time sketching in my little pink journal, imagining my first balletic pose in Billingham town square! Did I mention I love drawing, darling? All the things I do in my little pink world! The art, the fashion, the dance! I really can't resist a bit of creative expression.

And then, the train glided into Billingham Station, like a scene straight out of my imagination! It was bustling with people - tourists and locals alike, their faces full of adventure and excitement. This energy… it's electric, don’t you think?

I’d researched this town quite a lot before I arrived, and my eyes lit up like fairy lights at the idea of The Forum Theatre! They do the most exquisite ballets, the kind of classic, traditional pieces I simply adore. It’s not only ballet, my darlings, it’s a real sense of community, a feeling of connection. And as for the costume design - breathtaking!

Anyway, let's cut to the chase. I’m in my hotel room, with a view of the rolling hills in the distance. And yes, I've put on my ballerina shoes – the beautiful, new baby-pink ones I told you all about in yesterday's blog – and they're just begging for a pirouette or two! 🩰

My agenda for tomorrow is packed, but, oh darling, I’m ready for whatever Billingham throws at me! I'm picturing it - a magical afternoon of theatre, with dazzling costumes and beautiful choreography. It's going to be utterly perfect. After the performance, I’m planning on popping over to Billingham's enchanting Riverside Park, the most beautiful park I’ve ever seen! The locals say there are tons of geese and swans – how idyllic!

I can just see myself taking a leisurely stroll by the water, maybe even enjoying a delightful picnic basket of homemade delights. I'm already working on a cute recipe involving pink cupcakes, fluffy meringue and raspberries... It's all coming together, my darlings! The inspiration flows like the rivers of the beautiful North East!

If you are reading this, darling, take my advice - wear pink, go to the ballet, visit a wildlife park, and don’t forget to dance whenever the feeling hits! 💖 Just follow your own muse, you’ll be surprised how far your imagination can take you, and, most importantly, don’t forget to Live your pink dreams, you gorgeous lot!

Stay tuned, darling! Until tomorrow… Happy Dancing!

Yours in pink tutus,

Emma
