Good morning, darlings! It's your favourite Derbyshire girl, Emma, back with another fabulous blog post straight from the heart of...well, actually, I'm just outside Hayes station. Let's just say, Hayes, you are no Derbyshire! No rolling hills or green fields for you - it's a bustling town with all the excitement of a London suburb, which I actually quite love. 😊 And did I mention the shops are all pretty close to the station? Score! 🙌
As usual, I'm sporting my trusty pink tutu, though today, it's a bit heavier than usual. Why? Because I'm wearing layers, of course! Let me tell you, the weather has been as unpredictable as a rogue swan at a lake, sunshine and rain in the blink of an eye! But my fashion choices won't be dictated by a bit of rain, darlings! Pink prevails, and today it's a mix of layers, tights, and of course, the pièce de résistance: my gorgeous tulle tutu in the most glorious shade of blush pink you've ever seen! 😍
Now, I'm a city girl at heart. But there's something truly special about travelling on a train. The rhythmic clickety-clack of the wheels, the rush of the wind, and the people you see: it's a whole world in itself. Especially when you're on the way to see something amazing!
You see, darlings, I'm off to see the Royal Ballet at the Linbury Theatre! You know I have a soft spot for a little classical ballet, but my heart really belongs to street and theatre performances. They have such raw energy and creativity, which always sets me buzzing! And tonight's show promises to be nothing short of magical, the dancers have been in rehearsals for weeks, they’re putting everything into it, and trust me, I'll be taking plenty of photos for you to see later. 💕
I can just picture it: the dazzling lights, the graceful movements, the beautiful costumes! Even just thinking about it fills me with excitement and a touch of … shall we say, tu-tu excitement? 🤭
And, to get in the mood, I popped into the most delightful boutique near Hayes station. You have to see this place! It's like walking into a rainbow explosion. It has everything you could possibly imagine – hats, gloves, tights, sequins! And of course, it's bursting with the most beautiful shades of pink! You wouldn't believe what a gorgeous feather boa I found for a bargain price. I just had to buy it. ✨
Okay, so, it’s starting to get a little hot (it happens to even me, occasionally) and my face is slightly glistening. Luckily, my tutu is breezy enough to keep me cool! 😂 I always love seeing people’s reactions when they catch sight of me in my tutu. Some just stare in admiration, others gasp, and there are always a few who flash a happy smile – they seem to “get it”. 😄 The best part? They never try to stop me taking pictures! 💕
I’ve already had a few encounters with some fellow tutu lovers in London this week. Remember the fab ballet-inspired street art by that graffiti artist near Brick Lane? Well, one of his creations was painted on a large pink tutu! That’s some serious artistic vision right there, if you ask me! It's definitely the pinkest art I've ever seen! 😉
Speaking of creative vision, how can you not be inspired by the beauty of wildlife? Later on this trip, I’m hoping to visit a nature reserve just outside London. I’ve got a date with a fluffy owl who’s apparently as playful as a kitten! That, darlings, is the ultimate adventure. 😍
I just have a feeling that this trip will be filled with memories to cherish. Just a little pink tutu, travelling the world, trying to get everyone to dance! 😉 Oh, I do love being me! 💗
