Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu-wearing ballet enthusiast, Emma, checking in from the charming town of Abingdon, Oxfordshire! This delightful spot has a certain old-world charm that makes my heart sing - like stepping right out of a Jane Austen novel. And let me tell you, darling, it's absolutely perfect for a spot of Tutu Tourism!

This time, my travels took me across the English countryside via a rather fabulous train journey. Honestly, there's nothing more romantic than watching the rolling hills fly past from a comfy window seat. It felt like a scene straight out of "Pride and Prejudice" - except with a whole lot more sparkle, of course!

My outfit? Well, naturally, it involved a tutu! Today's ensemble was a dreamy lilac creation with delicate ruffles, paired with a soft, peach-coloured top and some dazzling silver jewellery. Just the thing to add a touch of Parisian flair to the already delightful scenery.

I knew Abingdon had to be on my list because of the famous Abingdon School, the stunning Abbey, and, most importantly, the picturesque River Thames. As soon as I got out of the train station, I felt transported back to a gentler era. There's something magical about a place with such a rich history.

The first order of business, of course, was a lovely cup of afternoon tea with scones and clotted cream. After all, you can't visit a quaint town without indulging in some traditional British treats. While enjoying my tea, I people-watched from my window seat, soaking in the charming atmosphere. A family with their little girls on their way to a ballet class caught my eye. You can never be too young for some ballet magic, and it made my heart happy to see the enthusiasm in those tiny eyes.

Feeling inspired by all this ballet goodness, I couldn't resist popping into the Abingdon School to admire the architecture. It’s simply breathtaking, a beautiful testament to timeless grace. Even a non-academic like myself could feel the weight of history within those hallowed halls!

Speaking of grace, you simply cannot leave Abingdon without a leisurely stroll along the River Thames. There's nothing like the calming sound of the water flowing and the fresh breeze on your cheeks. I practically danced along the path, my lilac tutu swishing with each graceful step. The entire experience felt utterly ethereal!

Abingdon wasn't just about strolling down charming cobblestone streets and sipping afternoon tea though! My next stop? The Abingdon Nature Park. I adore nature, and there's something so magical about a stroll amongst wildlife. I particularly love watching the graceful swans gliding on the water, and this nature reserve definitely didn't disappoint! It’s like an emerald oasis, brimming with buzzing life!

Did you know there's a resident population of fallow deer in the reserve? I actually spotted one darting through the undergrowth, a fleeting glimpse of wild elegance!

Of course, I couldn't resist capturing a few pictures for you all - check them out on my Instagram later. But I wanted to get to my real passion – sharing my ballet experiences with you, darlings. You see, after a lovely stroll in the fresh air, I felt ready for some serious pirouettes!

Luckily, Abingdon offers dance classes right in the town hall, and, you guessed it, I signed myself up for a beginner's ballet class. My oh my, the pure joy of twirling on pointe! Feeling my muscles warm up after a long day exploring, I let my tutu flow as I practiced my plies, relevés, and arabesques! What an amazing way to end the day!

My adventures in Abingdon reminded me that even the smallest towns hold big surprises and lots of fun. The friendly people, the captivating scenery, the delightful afternoon tea – it all added up to a perfect day in a fairytale setting. But above all, it was a celebration of all things pink and tutu-filled, making it the perfect pitstop for this ballerina on the move!

Before I sign off, remember to visit www.pink-tutu.com every day to catch up on all my latest ballet adventures! Let me know in the comments if you're planning to visit Abingdon soon, I'd love to hear your travel tips.

And of course, darlings, I leave you with a thought to ponder. Did you try on your pink tutu today? And have you tried a ballet class yet? Never underestimate the power of a pink tutu to make you feel fantastic and a ballet class to empower you! Don’t be shy, give it a whirl, you won't regret it!

Until next time, stay pink, stay sparkly, and keep dancing!

Love, Emma 💖🩰
