Romford Romp in a Yellow Tutu! 🩰💛

Hello my darling dancers! 🩰 It's Emma here, bringing you sunshine and tutus from the fabulous town of Romford! You might be thinking, "Romford? Why on earth, Emma?!" Well, my lovelies, this weekend has been all about embracing the unexpected and discovering new places, and let me tell you, Romford did not disappoint!

You see, my usual travel method is either the luxurious carriage ride with my beloved steed (yes, I do still ride a horse!) or a charming train journey through the rolling hills of Derbyshire, but this time, I took a leap of faith (and a little hop on a tube!) into the bustling heart of Greater London!

Now, my Romford escapade was all about embracing the unconventional and exploring a town that's usually overshadowed by its larger neighbour, London. I decided to break away from the classic "pink tutu" theme and instead, went for a sunny yellow number that felt like a ray of sunshine on a slightly grey London day. (Yes, I know, shock horror… a yellow tutu from yours truly?!)

I kicked off my adventure at the beautiful Romford Broadway, a vibrant heart of the town bustling with life. The quaint shops and the impressive Victorian architecture transported me back in time, reminding me of the elegance of a bygone era. I can already hear the murmurs of "but Emma, isn't Romford a bit...well...blah?" But, darling, hold onto your pointe shoes, because that's precisely where the magic comes in! Romford isn't fancy or highfalutin', but that's its charm, and you know I'm all about celebrating the everyday!

Of course, my yellow tutu did cause a little stir - some intrigued glances, a couple of friendly smiles, and even one very enthusiastic "LOVE your tutu!" shouted from a passing car. You see, dear readers, my ultimate goal is to make ballet and bright, joyful colours a part of everyday life! Whether it's strutting down Romford Broadway or gracing the grand stage at Covent Garden, my hope is to spark joy and inspiration wherever I go.

Now, I must admit, I was hoping to find a little ballet studio tucked away in the town, but alas, no such luck this time! So, instead, I turned my exploration into a beautiful ballet-inspired day. I strolled along the bustling markets, picturing the colourful stalls as stage props and the crowds as an audience cheering for my every step. I popped into the local art centre, which actually housed an exhibition on the history of dance! Can you believe it? There I was, mesmerized by sketches of famous ballet dancers and costumes from bygone eras.

One of my absolute highlights was a chance encounter with a beautiful little park. It had the most stunning, sprawling rose gardens – an absolute symphony of colour and fragrance! The gentle rustle of the leaves was like a rhythmic beat guiding my steps, and the vibrant colours of the flowers made me feel like a delicate ballerina twirling across a sunlit stage.

But no ballerina adventure is complete without a little treat, right? So, after a leisurely lunch by the tranquil lake, I found the most charming little tea room. Now, I may be a girly-girl at heart, but you wouldn't believe the excitement that swept over me when they offered me a pink Victoria sponge! It was almost as though fate itself had sent me this delightful treat to keep my inner princess happy.

Now, as my time in Romford came to an end, I was left with a heart full of joy and a smile that wouldn't quit! This place, despite its often-overlooked status, is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. It's full of friendly people, vibrant colours, and charming surprises - just like my little yellow tutu adventure.

So, my darlings, next time you’re feeling a bit adventurous, ditch the usual tourist traps and embark on an unexpected adventure! You never know what delightful surprises you might find… and don’t forget, even a simple trip to a nearby town can be the perfect setting for a magical, tutu-filled day!

Stay fabulous, and until next time…

Love,

Emma 💖
