Broadstairs Bliss: Pink Tutus and Seaside Delights! 🩰🌊

Post Number: 8772
(This is what they call me in Derbyshire - a "Post numberer"!! It keeps everything nice and organized - and so much better than the messy numbers on Facebook - don't you think??! πŸ˜‰ But enough of this... On to bigger, better, more glamorous, pinks things!!)

Hello darlings, and welcome back to Pink-Tutu! It's Emma here, and oh my gosh, I am just bursting to tell you all about my wonderful weekend in beautiful Broadstairs. It was the perfect blend of beachside bliss, ballerina dreams, and of course, a dash of that pink-tutu magic you've come to expect from yours truly.

(This is how you do BOLD in WordPress, but of course, if you're reading this somewhere else... maybe I should just WRITE IN CAPS instead? Ooh, italic maybe?? It doesn't seem as bold or in your face does it? Perhaps we could do *pink, PINK, pink, or pink? Hmmm.. I just think *pink is SO much more elegant don't you? It's a good job that there isn't an all caps function on wordpress! Anyway, I shall not digress... too much! Back to the beach. Yesss... beaches!)**

This was a solo trip for me, you see. I just needed a little escape from the hustle and bustle of Derby (there's definitely no shortage of bustle there). Don't get me wrong, Derby's fantastic - all those charming streets, cobblestones and all that. You just cannot beat the history! And of course it's a proper ballet hub. There's that amazing ballet school down the street - where all the young ladies practise so elegantly in those teeny, pink ballet shoes (that make that noise on the floor that clack, clack, clack. It always gives me such butterflies) ... and the lovely, graceful dancers of The Derby Dance Centre in those, yes... pink tutus, of course! (Oh... how I dream of those tiny little tutus some day!!) But even Derby girls need a holiday, and I absolutely crave that fresh, seabreeze-kissed life by the seaside!

I was in Broadstairs on the Kent coast for three whole days. Imagine! Three whole days! (Can you tell I'm feeling the holiday spirit already? - this weekend definitely has taken it to another level - ha ha)!

It all started with a dreamy train journey (there's nothing I love more than those carriage windows, the way they look so elegant. Just imagine the world swirling past and that wonderful clickety clack of the train. If they made it out of pink... Oh my! What a truly pink paradise that would be! You could have a pink tea-service on a pink train... PINK EVERYWHERE!

You can practically hear my mind going off about this already, can't you? Ooh, if I am a train... Then... (Ooh I shall write another post just about the train! Yessss!! I'll call it "Onward! In A Pink Carriage").

But I must return to Broadstairs.. mustn't I? Well when I got to the seaside, it truly felt like something out of a film. It had those charming little houses and of course the stunning beach which had been bathed in the most gorgeous sunset as I strolled along (with my special ballet shoes of course, I could practically feel the ballet magic just hanging in the air... )

I was a little bit worried, you see, as I'd only ever been to beaches in my "Ballet-On-the-Sea" ballet studio, not real beaches with sand (which makes the cutest, glittery look when I sprinkle it in my pink-tutu - the more glitter, the more glamour!... Ooh this gives me a whole new pink-tutu-and-beach idea.... Ohh! A seashell and sparkle tutu! With tutti frutti pink beads - that's the perfect colour. The "Ballet Sea" is calling to me. Ooh! This could be my new Ballet-on-the-Sea design!! *Get it? *).

Of course, no trip to Broadstairs is complete without visiting The Dickens House Museum. I love it because I can feel all that creativity there! It really is just dripping in creativity. Now... creative and pink tutus..... Hmm, well I'm not even going to start writing about that (because my creative juices just start to spill and this is getting much too long)... Let's just get back to the weekend and what happened next...

So, on day two, after enjoying some amazing* scampi (don't even get me started on the sauce delicious! ... ooohh.. pink..) I just had to check out the lovely Viking Coastal Trail. And that's when it happened, that most glorious thing ... It actually happened. **And no.. this isn't an embarrassing "falling on your face" story....

(Well, maybe it kind of is .. if falling face-first in to the *softest white sand that you can imagine is a bit embarrassing.)

Well, there I was. Just me! ...strutting my stuff, trying out some ballet moves... On *this absolutely perfect little piece of white sand beach. I felt so light - and just free to fly.... Then, the wind took my pink tulle and whoosh!. That gorgeous tulle floated up like a cloud... and ... ( well you've probably guessed by now...) ** I tumbled head first into the sand!!!.

Honestly, if this wasn't so funny I would have died of absolute horror!

But instead, I just chuckled and felt all bright and beautiful as I emerged from that cloud of pink tulle (still there with the gorgeous sparkle!). It's definitely going into my list of "Best Times On a Pink Tutu!". And just in case you think that was my only "tumble" on my Broadstairs trip... you'd be wrong (you really, really wouldn't be able to pull me away from those gorgeous seashells.... even after tumble number two. ...Ooh number three.... I think that was by the ice-cream stand... oops) ...

But hey - all that sand is the perfect time to apply more of my favourite sparkle. (Yessss! ... More Sparkle!! You can never have enough glitter!! Ooh I wonder how I'd look in a glitter-covered pink tutu?? Oh My Lord that would be epic)! And, the next day, when I found those little baby crabs at the bottom of the cliff and the most amazing collection of seashells.... Well, this was when the true magic of a pink tutu unfolded.

(Oh and of course those baby seals in the bay totally stole the show! Who doesn't love a baby seal in their pink-tutu-dreams? ... Ooh... pink seals? Hmmm, I might need to make one in pink felt. Yesssss!!)

But back to the shell game, you see, this is where that pink tutu comes in handy for a dancer and someone who really loves nature (me! - remember that is my secret aim in life - to get everyone doing ballet and living in harmony with wildlife). I had to collect some seashells (pink ones, obviously), and when my *tutu caught my attention... I thought, "Well, *why not make a little pink tutu pouch?*".

I simply twirled my pink tutu, tied up those ribbons and voila! There I was... A pretty little pink-tutu pouch. What do you think readers? Pretty nifty, right? (And do you know what? That's the beauty of this kind of ballet, the 'pink ballet', as I like to call it.... It’s a fusion of art, passion, wildlife, and style! Of course, this kind of ballet isn’t in the ballet textbooks, but it doesn't need to be does it?

Well after all of those shell adventures, I had the most wonderful, beautiful, inspiring time at* "Ballet in the Garden". *It was... the perfect way to finish my seaside trip - a chance to *dance *and inspire others to love ballet... which of course led to another 'tumble'.... Whoops! ... it is a beach after all.

And the weekend just flew by ... But it was time for my pink train journey back. (I'm so glad it was just me. Can you imagine the horror if I had to explain all this pink-tutu-tumble business? .... Let alone all those little pink shells... it might be quite intense... even for those who love pink!)

Well I must go! ... and start *making that pink shell tutu!! And maybe *paint a *pink seal. But until then.. I'll see you all back on Pink-Tutu tomorrow... and don't forget those little pink ballet shoes girls. Let's spread that pink-tutu love. (What? No? Really?? What will we *do?) *. **

Oh and ... If you ever get the chance... do go and visit the seaside! The sand is really soft... just watch out for those baby crabs!!!
