Welling - Tutu Tales, Post #8941: A Festive Pink Tutu in Kent!

Hello, darlings! It's Christmas Day and, as you know, I'm in love with a pink tutu! And today, I'm taking you with me to the charming town of Welling, Kent. It's been a long time since I've graced its cobbled streets, but there was just something calling me this Christmas - I could hear the twinkle of fairy lights and smell the warming scent of cinnamon.

But first, a quick outfit confession! I just couldn't resist the opportunity to wear a festive, sparkly, very pink tutu, complete with a giant pink bow. I felt like a living Christmas ornament - or perhaps, a sugared almond! The locals gave me quite the stares, but who cares! After all, Christmas is all about embracing a bit of festive spirit, wouldn't you say?

We started the day with a lovely morning stroll around Welling's bustling high street. Shops decked out with Christmas cheer, with tinsel and baubles galore, and an air of excitement in the air. We ducked into a quaint tea room for a cup of warming mulled cider - just what the doctor ordered! The warm spiced drink was the perfect antidote to the frosty air. The delightful smell of cinnamon and orange warmed me from the inside out.

After our warm-up, we decided to visit the charming Welling Baptist Church. It was beautiful, with stained glass windows showcasing the story of the nativity, bathed in golden sunlight streaming through the stained glass. I always feel a sense of peace and serenity when I'm in a church, but it felt even more magical with the twinkling fairy lights decorating the exterior.

Next on our Christmas escapade, we took a scenic stroll through the picturesque Welling Park. This wasn't just any park, it's famous for its magnificent Victorian architecture! We marvelled at the elegant design of the pavilion, with its elegant turrets and intricate brickwork.

We found a quiet bench under a beautiful old oak tree, where I could contemplate life and take in the beautiful views.

But I just couldn't resist striking a few poses! It’s practically second nature now to whip out my phone and capture every fabulous moment – what better background for my pink tutu than the grandeur of Welling Park? It seemed only fitting to show off my latest creation - a miniature Christmas ballerina doll in full-on festive pink tutu, dancing on the bench beside me. After all, what’s Christmas without a little bit of magic and a dollop of whimsy?

Before our trip, I couldn’t resist checking out the local wildlife. This lovely park is home to a lovely variety of wild critters, so it seemed only right to bring along a little ballet bag stocked full of squirrel-friendly snacks. I even found a cute little fox that looked intrigued by my dancing skills, although I was quite nervous for it to come any closer! It seemed that this cute critter preferred its snacks on the floor, rather than being fed by an adorable pink ballerina!

Our day trip to Welling ended with a heart-warming dinner at The White Horse Inn, where I felt my toes tap happily as the local pub orchestra played Christmas carols. There's truly no better feeling than enjoying delicious food in a warm, cosy environment. The warmth and the smiles of the locals definitely made it an unforgettable experience.

And with that, my dears, I must bring this post to a close.
