Bridlington Bound in a Bubblegum Dream 🩰💖

Hey beautiful ballet bunnies! 👋 It's your girl Emma, coming to you live from…wait for it…the breathtaking Bridlington! Yes, you read that right! This little seaside gem on the Yorkshire coast has stolen my heart, and it’s got nothing to do with the slightly chilly breeze whipping around my perfectly pink cheeks. 😉

So, how did I get here, you ask? Well, I could have driven, but wouldn't you know it, my dear old Fiat 500 decided it was tired of all that asphalt and wanted a little taste of country life. So, the train it was! 🚄 You know me, I’m all about a good train journey – especially when I can have a tutu-tastic window seat (pink seat cover, obvs) to admire the passing scenery, dream up new dance routines, and (whisper it) perhaps even take a nap or two. 🤫

The journey was pure magic. As the Derbyshire countryside blurred past, I couldn't help but feel like a character stepping out of a whimsical fairytale. A chorus of birds singing, sun-dappled meadows, and rolling green hills… I'd be lying if I said it didn't inspire my inner ballerina, who started conjuring up scenes for my next YouTube dance video. You can be sure, darling, I'll be whipping up a proper "ballet-by-the-railroad" masterpiece – stay tuned! 😉

Once I reached the historic heart of Bridlington, I was greeted by a charming Victorian pier that whispered stories of seaside romance. I was immediately captivated! 😍 The sea air had a crisp, refreshing feel to it, and the gentle waves crashing against the shore felt like a symphony for the senses. But of course, my real reason for visiting was the "Dance Under the Stars" ballet festival. I had heard about this spectacular event, where seasoned professionals and budding ballet bunnies alike converge for a weekend of dazzling performances, workshops, and sheer joy.

The festival itself was nothing short of magical! There were stunning open-air performances under the stars (naturally, I brought my pink, glittery blanket to complete the look), captivating masterclasses where I almost convinced myself I could finally nail a perfect fouetté (but, alas, it will require slightly more practice!), and delightful workshops focusing on different aspects of ballet from costuming and choreography to musicality and storytelling.

But the real star of the show, you guys, was this adorable white leotard I found in a quaint boutique in the old town. 😍 It was so my style: delicate, flowy, with a hint of sparkle, and just begging to be twirled in! I paired it with my favourite pair of white pointe shoes (the perfect contrast against my usual pink ensemble) and felt utterly transformed.

Did I mention I tried a real fish and chips while I was here? I just had to embrace the seaside experience, and you can't talk about a day in Bridlington without indulging in a good ol' fashioned fish and chips! 🐟 It was absolutely delicious – perfectly crispy, juicy fish, and those chips... they were practically dancing on my plate! 😂

I must confess, my inner ballerina totally took over while I was at the beach. You know, I couldn’t resist a little improvisational dance in the sand with the sea as my backdrop! 🩰🌊 The air was so clean and the sun was setting, bathing everything in a magical golden glow. I felt like I was in one of my own ballet dreams. Oh, to have captured the scene on film…but alas, sometimes you just have to live in the moment! 💖

Overall, this trip to Bridlington has been absolutely breathtaking (pun totally intended!). I have come back feeling rejuvenated, inspired, and reminded of why I love being a ballet bunny – the journey, the experiences, and the beauty that lies within the dance itself!

Of course, no trip is complete without a few reflections and promises.

Reflection: It is so important to find your own kind of magic – even if that means venturing out of your comfort zone, discovering new places, and getting a little sand between your toes. (Remember those dancing chips! 🍟😂)

Promise: You guys are already a huge part of this pink-tutu world! But this is only the beginning. I want everyone to wear a pink tutu (pink is for everyone, after all!) and experience the magic of ballet! 🌸💖 Whether you’re already a pro or just a curious soul wanting to dip your toes (sorry, couldn’t help it!) into the wonderful world of ballet, know that there is a place for you! Join the #PinkTutuRevolution and let’s twirl the world into a ballet dream! 💫

Until next time, stay fabulous and dance on! 💋✨

Emma
