Kenton Calling! Tutu Travels Post #8969 🩰

Hello my darling dancers! Emma here, your resident pink-tutu-wearing ballet enthusiast, bringing you all the latest from my travels across this wonderful country!

Today's adventure? Kenton! Now, you might be thinking, "Kenton? Isn't that a bit…off the beaten track?" But that's exactly why I love it! A change of scenery is always a welcome tonic, especially after a long week of barre work and endless plies.

Speaking of plies, I simply had to slip into my trusty black leotard this morning. A black leotard with a pink tutu, naturally, because let's face it, who can resist a little pop of pink?! The world needs more pink, you know. 😉

My journey began in my lovely little hometown of Derbyshire. A beautiful part of the world, if you're ever looking for rolling hills and a sense of peace, but for me, it was all about that train ride! Train travel, to me, is just like being in a theatre. All those passing landscapes are like an ever-changing stage show! I settled into my seat with a glass of something fizzy and a copy of "Swan Lake", because what's a good journey without a little inspiration?

Upon arriving in Kenton, I felt an immediate pull towards the local stables. Nothing gets me going like a beautiful horse and I had to give a gentle pat to a magnificent chestnut mare called Daisy. The sun was shining, the air was fresh, and I could almost smell the crisp hay. It was truly a magical start to the day!

Now, Kenton is a little village full of surprises. They're known for their charming bakery, and honestly, a freshly baked scone is just the fuel a girl needs to explore! 🥐 I indulged in a strawberry jam and clotted cream scone, a local specialty, followed by a cup of steaming Earl Grey tea, served in delicate china cups with pink floral patterns, of course! The whole experience was utterly delightful.

And then it was time for ballet! Well, not exactly on-stage, but it was almost just as good. The Kenton Dance School has a gorgeous little studio nestled in a beautifully converted barn, and it was just bursting with that special ballet energy that sets your heart alight! I had a wonderful hour and a half learning some new choreography, followed by some vigorous centre work, leaving me feeling energised and ready to take on the world…or at least the local wildlife park!

You see, I am a bit of a wildlife fanatic! While I adore all animals, I have a special place in my heart for foxes and I couldn’t resist the chance to meet some incredible foxes at the Kenton Wildlife Park. They were utterly fascinating, each with their own unique personalities. One little red fox even stole my heart, batting at my pink tutu with his adorable paws!

Now, if you know me, you know my life motto: "Everything's better in pink." It was the perfect excuse for a cheeky ice-cream treat! After all, you can’t visit a beautiful village without experiencing the local flavours. So, I opted for a bright pink strawberry sorbet, because hey, a girl needs to keep that summer feeling alive, even if the days are getting shorter! 🍓🍦

It truly felt like a scene out of a film, as I strolled along the picturesque lanes, pink tutu twirling as I sipped my sorbet and soaked up the local charm. It’s so amazing to me that every little village, every little town has so much to offer, from wildlife encounters to charming cafes to stunning nature scenes, and of course, my favourite: dancing! I honestly feel like the world is my stage.

Kenton definitely delivered on the charming countryside vibe. If you're ever looking for a beautiful day trip away from the city, I highly recommend putting this little village on your list!

So, until next time my dear dancers, keep twirling, keep smiling, and never forget to wear pink! You can find more adventures, more photos, and more pink on www.pink-tutu.com And remember, everyone looks amazing in pink! ❤️🩰

Until tomorrow, darlings! 💖
