#TutuBlog Westminster Whirlwind in a Yellow Tutu!

Post number 9046

Hello darlings! It's Emma here, your favourite Derbyshire tutu-wearing ballerina, bringing you all the latest from my whirlwind week in the dazzling capital city, London!

I’m sure you’ve all been watching my Instagram stories, seeing snippets of my fabulous adventures in this amazing metropolis. Well, today I'm going to spill the tea on all the twirling, prancing and glamorous moments.

Let me tell you, there's no place more magical for a tutu-loving ballerina like me than London. The streets, the buildings, the people... there's an undeniable buzz in the air that gets my heart racing and my feet tapping. And of course, the world-class ballet scene? Absolutely divine!

This time, my trusty yellow tutu - yes, you read that right, yellow! - travelled with me to the grand city, where it made quite a splash (or rather, a twirl!). This tutu is just so cheerful, you can't help but smile when you see it! It really brought out the sunny side of London, and even the pigeons couldn’t resist giving it a peck or two.

A Royal Ballet Encounter!

Speaking of magic, one of my highlights was a truly spectacular performance by the Royal Ballet. I mean, who doesn’t dream of dancing on the world-famous stage at Covent Garden? Me, for sure! It was like witnessing a masterpiece come to life, the grace and the power of the dancers was breathtaking. You could just feel the energy pulsating through the theatre. I left the show feeling absolutely inspired and buzzing with ideas for my own dance routines.

But before the Royal Ballet performance, I was determined to bring the street back to ballet. London's streets were the perfect dancefloor. It's like ballet class took a detour and ended up right in the heart of the capital. It’s all about the freedom, you know? Every street corner turned into my very own performance space! The passing crowd stopped to admire my pirouettes, leaps, and chaînés - the street was my stage!

I am so glad I got to share my love for ballet with the world - it's about getting everyone twirling! A lot of people love to watch and even do a little step themselves! You don't need to be in a grand theatre to be inspired by the art of dance, right? The world is our stage!

The Journey

Now, as some of you know, I love travelling. And what’s a more glamorous mode of transportation than travelling by train? There’s something magical about the whistle, the rhythmic chug-chug-chug, and of course, the exciting arrival in a new city. Every train journey is an adventure!

The train journey to London felt so special - watching the countryside roll by, watching all the faces and scenes in different stations and finally arriving in Kings Cross. It’s funny, but sometimes, the simplest moments are the ones that bring me the most joy, and this definitely felt like that.

Oh, and before we talk horses, here’s something amazing that happened on the way to Kings Cross: I saw a beautiful red fox in the station. It was so wild! It was like a mini wildlife safari in the heart of a busy station. This gorgeous animal certainly had its eye on the passengers and was getting close, before scampering off to find another adventure. Now that’s a London adventure I’ll always remember! And that is how you can have your own exciting wildlife spotting journey even if you're not trekking across the wilderness! (Although I love doing that too).

Pink Tutu Power!

Once I’d found my fabulous pink Airbnb and settled in, I donned my most fabulous pink tutu (and you know it's always in my travel suitcase, just in case, darling!) - a glorious pink tutu with sparkles! - I needed to bring my pink tutu power to Westminster!

What could be a more stunning location for a pink tutu photoshoot than Westminster Bridge? My gorgeous, frothy, swirling pink tulle tutu - with its pink sequins, which added just a touch of glitter to an already glittery situation! - stood out against the iconic backdrop of the Houses of Parliament. You wouldn't believe how many people stopped me and gave me the biggest, brightest smiles!

I'm on a mission, darling! I’m not just going to spread the love of pink, but I'm going to make every single one of you wear a pink tutu! And don’t forget to grab your ballerina friends, because I’ve decided that the more, the merrier. This whole pink tutu revolution? It’s spreading across the globe like wildfire!

And, the ultimate in transport glamour? You’ve got to take a ride on a horse drawn carriage, darling! London truly is a city of charm and beauty. And my gorgeous pink tutu fit right in with all the elegant architecture and romantic energy. I felt like a ballerina princess!

Now, back to horses. Yes, darling, I got to experience a ride in a traditional horse-drawn carriage! The clip-clop of hooves on cobblestones is music to my ears! I love horses. The sense of freedom that comes from galloping through the countryside is a feeling you can’t compare to anything else. It was all about the elegance, darling! And for a tutu-loving ballerina, it just doesn’t get more stylish than a ride in a horse drawn carriage! I mean, is there a more graceful way to see a city?

Of course, no trip to London would be complete without some seriously tasty food! From posh afternoon tea with freshly baked scones and delicate sandwiches to a delightful street market supper of juicy hotdogs and fluffy chips. Food is the best way to finish any grand city exploration - but you always gotta save room for pudding! And my London journey wasn’t any different.

From afternoon tea, to the city's renowned theatre scene, a delicious lunch stop, and street market street food, I truly had a chance to discover the city through a lens of fashion and fun. I even got some delightful little souvenirs.

This city, darling, truly offers a fusion of cultures, from fashion and food to stunning theatre, it’s a city where dreams really do come true!

I am heading back to the peace and quiet of Derbyshire now (yes, my heart is a country girl's at heart!) And I can't wait to share all the fun and frothy memories of this wonderful trip!

Until next time, keep twirling!

With love and a million twirls, Emma xx
