Stevenage: Fairy Tales & Pink Tutus

Helloooo gorgeous girlies!

It's Emma here, your favourite Derbyshire dancing queen, reporting live from... Stevenage! Can you believe it? I've been dying to visit this quirky town for ages, and this week, my dreams came true. This is blog post number 9094 (can you believe I've written over 9000 blog posts?! That's a lot of pink tutus!) But enough about me - let's talk about the magic of Stevenage.

A Fairytale Come True

Remember that fairy-themed tutu I got from my trip to Paris last month? The one with the shimmering gold wings and the hand-stitched wildflowers? Well, let me tell you, it was made for Stevenage! I mean, the place practically pulsates with an otherworldly charm. I even saw a unicorn on my way to the train station! (Okay, maybe it was a horse, but still, you know I love my mythical creatures).

My first stop was the Stevenage Museum. I'm always drawn to museums – you just never know what kind of inspiring stories you might discover! And Stevenage Museum certainly delivered. Did you know that this little town is home to the first concrete town in the UK? Talk about revolutionary! It was amazing to see the historic photographs and the interactive displays, showing how people lived and worked in the past.

A Ballerina's Paradise

No trip is complete without a little ballet! I found this amazing studio, The Dance Centre, just a hop, skip and a jump from the museum. I booked a contemporary ballet class with a wonderful teacher called Ms. Clara. She was just brilliant! And guess what? They actually had a few pink tutus hanging around for students to use! It felt so empowering to dance amongst a group of like-minded girls, sharing the joy of movement and feeling that exquisite, light-as-air sensation.

Lunch With a View

After all that exercise, my tummy was definitely grumbling! I had the most delicious lunch at The Globe Cafe overlooking the lovely Stevenage Museum Gardens. It was like something out of a Victorian novel. And what's even better is that they served organic pink lemonade – just perfect to keep me going until the evening!

A Touch of Theatre

As the sun began to set, it was time for some evening entertainment. I found the most delightful theatre in the heart of the town – The Gordon Craig Theatre. They had an intriguing programme of plays and musicals – I opted for a dramatic performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream which is a favourite Shakespeare play of mine. It was breathtakingly beautiful! The actors were incredible, and I even managed to nab a selfie with Puck himself.

My Tutu-licious Look

For this trip, I had to go all-out with my fairy-themed tutu! It was the perfect excuse to wear my favourite, sparkly pink flats, a matching floral head band, and a cute little pink backpack to carry all my ballet essentials.

The secret? To look your best on a day out, the key is to layer! The weather can be unpredictable, so always pack a cardigan or light jacket for those cooler evenings. Oh, and don’t forget your little pink lip gloss for the perfect touch of sparkle.

My Pink Tutu Wish

This whole experience has reminded me why I'm so passionate about spreading the joy of pink tutus and ballet! If I could, I'd wish that everyone, every single person, would get their hands on a pink tutu. I don't mean they have to become professional ballerinas - just feel the joy of swirling and twirling! Try ballet - you'll feel amazing! There's no better way to feel confident and fabulous.

And let’s be honest, what could be more wonderful than seeing the whole world in a pink tutu? It would be a world filled with laughter, sunshine, and maybe even a few mythical unicorns.

So, girlies, what are you waiting for? Grab your pink tutu, put on your favourite pink dress, and come join me for a ballet adventure. Let’s bring a little bit of fairy-tale magic into our everyday lives!

Don't forget to check back tomorrow for another adventure! Follow me on Instagram (@pinktutugirl) for my daily dose of tutu inspiration. See you all soon!

**Love,

Emma xx**
