Pinner: A Whirlwind of Pink and Pointe Shoes! (Post #9463)
Hello, my lovelies! It's your girl, Emma, back with another sparkly blog post. Today I'm bursting with excitement because... well, I just had a day of pink and tutus in the charming little town of Pinner!
Pinner is nestled in the heart of Middlesex, and while it may not have the bustling, grand nature of London, it offers something just as magical: quaint charm and hidden treasures. I, of course, travelled there in the most elegant way possible - via a vintage train carriage, a plush crimson interior, a symphony of clanking tracks, and me, in my signature pink tutu, attracting the most curious gazes. The sheer joy on faces of fellow passengers, young and old, always warms my heart. It's about time we embrace a touch of colour and whimsy in our everyday lives, don't you think?
And speaking of whimsy, did you know that Pinner is famous for being the inspiration for the novel, "The Famous Five?" Now, I won't bore you with all the literary details, but let's just say that a town brimming with the energy of daring adventures is certainly something to be embraced!
A ballet afternoon in Pinner... A Ballet dream come true!
After I navigated the enchanting streets, it was time for the pièce de résistance of the day - the Pinner Ballet Studio. Stepping into the hallowed halls, it was like stepping back into the grand era of ballet! I imagined graceful ballerinas twirling amidst chandeliers and intricate stained-glass windows - and hey, wouldn’t you know it, the studio felt just like that!
The warmth and excitement of the studio had me leaping for joy - literally! They have such an array of ballet classes, from classical to contemporary, it's impossible not to get swept away in the sheer love of ballet that radiates from every corner of the space.
I'll admit, a part of me always felt the pangs of envy at these dedicated souls. The pure joy they found in the rigorous discipline and elegance of ballet is simply awe-inspiring. And they all wore their pink tutus with pride! Just what a dancer needs to find their own joy and sparkle in the world, right?
You know what? My heart is telling me we need to share the wonders of ballet! The world deserves to experience the magic! My mission this month? Encouraging a world full of pink tutus, dancing for joy in every corner. I even got a little creative and found a delightful, independent shop in Pinner, "The Tutu Emporium", filled with an endless array of sparkly tutus, leotards, and ballerina shoes – all things pink and fluffy! They were absolutely wonderful and I was welcomed with open arms - as if I was royalty. It’s such a wonderful thing to see such genuine joy and love, for this, the art of ballet, spread throughout the world. I have to give my heartfelt thanks to them for such a lovely afternoon.
And since I was in Pinner, I couldn’t leave without seeing the renowned wildlife! Just a short train ride away is the Ruislip Woods, an expansive network of forests that feels like it came straight out of a fairy tale! Wandering through the paths, I felt a profound sense of calm as the birdsong filled the air, and the sun danced on the emerald canopy. This peaceful retreat is a hidden gem just waiting to be discovered, a wonderful reprieve from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It's a place that reminds you that there is beauty to be found everywhere, even just a short train ride from London.
My Pinner Diaries
The evening was, as always, the most exciting part! My dear friends, dressed in their best pink tutus, joined me at The Old Plough for a celebratory meal. The atmosphere was full of laughter and camaraderie - truly a wonderful ending to an absolutely spectacular day. The Old Plough - I was utterly smitten with this pub. Its warm, cozy atmosphere made me feel instantly welcomed! And their famous "Ploughman's Lunch," (complete with a delightful side of chutney and pickles) is a feast for both the tummy and the eyes! It was just the right way to finish the day. If you find yourself in Pinner, a visit to The Old Plough is a must. Trust me, it's an experience you won't forget!
This Pinner excursion is one I'll hold dear for a long time to come - a whimsical mix of art, adventure, and delicious eats. I discovered new hidden gems and saw the world through the eyes of my beloved pink tutu! I think it's time we all started thinking outside the box, breaking free from the mundane, and embracing the joy of the little things!
If there's anything this day in Pinner has taught me, it's that there's nothing like a bit of pink and tutu-fied magic to add a touch of whimsy and sparkle to life! So why wait? Embrace the world of pink tutus and ballet - you won't regret it!
Until next time, Emma xo
