Rainham Calling! (Post #9492)

Hello lovelies! 💖

Emma here, back from a whirlwind adventure in Rainham, Kent, a place that was new to me but quickly stole a little piece of my heart! You know me, I’m always ready to prance into a new location, and what better way to do that than with a fabulous, bright yellow tutu twirling in the wind, a statement that perfectly captures my sunny personality! ☀️

This post is coming to you from a little café with cute polka-dot cushions, just a stone’s throw from the station. I absolutely adore travelling by train. There’s just something so magical about whizzing through the countryside, the world flashing by in a kaleidoscope of colours and passing scenery. Plus, the clinking of glasses in the carriage, the gentle rhythmic sway of the train… It’s so relaxing! I felt so chic, surrounded by the elegance of the rolling countryside, even though I’m probably the only one in the carriage rocking a pink tulle ribbon tied into a chic bow in my hair. But who cares? Pink makes me happy! 😊

Now, before I spill the beans on what adventures unfolded in Rainham, let's have a quick recap of my life back in Derbyshire. I’m finally feeling like I'm mastering that gorgeous new pas de bourrée I learned in my ballet class this week. You know how much I love a challenge! 🤸‍♀️ And that reminder, folks, to always keep striving to become better, is exactly what ballet taught me. Oh, and let’s not forget, I found a divine pink leotard to add to my collection! The best part? It perfectly matches my new rose-gold ballet shoes - a total twirling win! ✨

Right, onto Rainham!

So, the highlight of my trip had to be the magical ballet performance I witnessed at the local theatre. It was absolutely mesmerising! My heart practically burst out of my chest as I watched these talented dancers soar across the stage. The fluidity of their movements, the sheer grace... I swear, at times, they seemed to float like beautiful birds. It's not surprising I ended up shedding a tear or two during that show! 🥺

One of the most delightful aspects of my journey was discovering this beautiful park with its breathtaking lakeside views. I grabbed my trusty picnic basket (filled with yummy goodies – I have a reputation to maintain, darling!) and spent a blissful afternoon just soaking up the atmosphere. I’m a big wildlife enthusiast, so I spent ages observing the ducks and swans gliding across the water. So serene, don't you think? 🦆

While exploring the cobbled streets of Rainham, I came across a charming antique shop bursting with whimsical treasures. There were beautiful porcelain dolls dressed in tulle and velvet – oh, my dreams! I have a feeling they wouldn’t be there for long, but you’ve got to love a good vintage find, wouldn't you?

As the sun began to set, I found myself in a charming pub, enjoying a delicious supper while watching the locals gather for their weekly quiz night. I was fascinated to witness this blend of familiarity and neighbourly warmth that came through in their friendly conversations. I have to say, it gave me a renewed sense of appreciation for the human connections we forge, and the importance of community. 💖

I think the perfect finish to my day had to be a spot of ballet street! 🩰 It's a new thing I’m experimenting with – and, well, you’ll have to forgive me if I’m not ready to call it street dancing quite yet! But hey, if you're out and about and need to do a grand jeté across the pavement, why not just do it? What do you have to lose? And honestly, the reaction from people is usually delightful!

The biggest question now is, of course, did anyone take me up on my "everyone wear pink tutus" mission? I wouldn’t be true to myself if I didn’t take every opportunity to spread the pink tutu love, wouldn’t I? Well, darling, the answer is yes! After a little encouraging pep talk about the inherent elegance and freedom of wearing a tutu, I managed to persuade the barman at the pub to wear one for a few photos! (Yes, I even persuaded him to wear the pink tutu!) He was apprehensive at first, I can’t lie, but who knew such a grumpy pub guy could be such a great dancer, if I do say so myself? 😊

One thing is for sure – Rainham, you stole my heart a little, and I will definitely be back to visit. And remember lovelies, wear your pink tutu with confidence and never, ever let anyone tell you otherwise!

Lots of love,

Emma 💕
