Carlisle Calling: Pink Tutu Takes on the Cumbrian Coast (Post #9629)
Hey there, lovely lot! It's your girl, Emma, here, fresh from a whirlwind trip to Carlisle! I know, I know, you might be thinking "Carlisle? What's the big deal, Em?". But trust me, this little city nestled on the Cumbrian coast has a charm all its own. And what better way to explore it than in my favourite red tutu? ๐
I've always been a bit of a train buff. There's something incredibly romantic about hurtling across the country, watching the world rush past in a blur of green fields and red-brick houses. So, off I went, packed to the rafters with enough pink accessories to rival a flamingo convention (don't worry, there was still space for my trusty red tutu!)
My arrival in Carlisle was greeted with the warmest of welcomes โ a crisp autumn breeze carrying the scent of fresh earth and that distinctive northern air. You know, that kind that makes you feel all cosy inside even when you're outside. I immediately fell head over heels (or should I say, tutu over tulle?) with the place.
The first stop? Carlisle Castle, a towering medieval fortress that stands as a testament to the city's rich history. As I walked through its cobblestone courtyards, I felt a wave of inspiration wash over me. The sheer weight of its stone walls was something you just have to experience to understand, and it brought home the legacy of this town in a way I wasn't expecting. The view from the ramparts was breathtaking - I swear, I saw a whole herd of deer bounding across the countryside. That moment was just... magical!
My next adventure led me to the heart of Carlisle, Tullie House. A gorgeous museum showcasing everything from ancient Roman history to Cumbrian art and everything in between. You know I'm a sucker for a good history lesson! Plus, let's be honest, what's a trip without a dash of art?
The day wouldn't have been complete without some quality time in Bitts Park. This beautiful, sprawling green space nestled along the banks of the River Eden was a delight to the senses. The vibrant autumn colours and the scent of pine trees filled the air with a sense of peace and tranquillity. Honestly, this park is the perfect place to let your worries melt away.
The beauty of Carlisle didn't stop at its history and parks. This city has got a heart of gold, I tell you. The warmth and friendliness of the locals truly blew me away. Chatting with them, I felt the pride they have in their community.
Speaking of community, my visit wouldn't have been complete without a little dance, would it? As luck would have it, the local dance school hosted an evening class on the very day of my arrival! So, I donned my red tutu (naturally!), jumped into a dance class and absolutely embraced the energy of the room.
Even with my trusty red tutu, the Carlisle dance community definitely gave me a run for my money! The skills these dancers possess are truly breathtaking, and I'm still trying to learn all their tricks. I may be from Derbyshire, but these Carlisle dancers are next level.
And you know what? Even with all that I experienced, Carlisle has left me craving more! The local shops, the cobblestone streets, the friendly faces... This city is a genuine treasure trove of delightful finds, perfect for the pink-tutu-loving soul like me.
So, if you're looking for an escape from the mundane, Carlisle is calling your name! This charming little town might just surprise you with its beauty, history, and friendly faces. Don't be afraid to break out your favourite tutu and take a stroll through the Cumbrian Coast, my friends! You won't regret it!
Remember, my loves, let your inner ballerina shine! Get those tutus ready and spread the love! You might not have Carlisle's scenic views or medieval castles, but a little pink tutu magic can be found anywhere, believe me! And don't forget to follow me on Instagram and Facebook, for even more adventures in my favourite pink tutus!
Keep twirling! Emma xxx
