Tutu Travels: Sutton in Ashfield, Post #9691
Hello darlings! Emma here, back from another glorious adventure in the world of pink tutus and twirling. Today's destination? The charming town of Sutton in Ashfield, nestled in the heart of Nottinghamshire.
This was a trip tinged with a touch of nostalgia. I have such fond memories of coming to this area as a child, with my grandparents taking me to explore the beautiful Sherwood Forest, home to Robin Hood! Today, I decided to swap Robin Hood’s green for my own favourite colour, a dazzling shade of pink, of course. And what better way to honour my love for ballet than with a brand-new tutu? This time, I chose a glorious cyan blue - it was the perfect combination of ethereal and energetic.
I arrived at Sutton in Ashfield in the most charming way possible - via a scenic train journey. The landscape of the Derbyshire countryside always brings me peace. The lush green fields and rolling hills, peppered with quaint villages and sleepy farmhouses, are a perfect backdrop for daydreams of pirouettes and pliés.
The day began with a delightful discovery - a quaint vintage shop brimming with all sorts of delightful treasures. I couldn’t resist buying a charming little pink teacup and saucer, the perfect addition to my growing collection of pink paraphernalia. I even found a delicate silk scarf printed with ballerina silhouettes – it was just meant to be!
Next, it was time for my favourite part – ballet class! I found a lovely studio tucked away in a quiet side street, offering ballet classes for all ages and levels. I quickly fell in love with the teacher, who exuded warmth and passion, and the class itself was a joy to participate in.
After a quick refuel with a delicious lunch at a charming cafe, I decided to explore the town. I strolled down the charming main street, taking in the traditional brick buildings and independent shops. A friendly florist even had a window display filled with pink peonies - how divine!
No visit to Sutton in Ashfield is complete without a walk through the historic Clumber Park. The towering trees and serene lake made me feel as if I’d been transported to another world, and I was practically giddy with inspiration for a new dance piece. It reminded me that my passion for ballet comes not only from the stage but also from the beauty that surrounds us in nature.
Later, I ended my day in the town's charming local pub, where I enjoyed a delicious dinner and a lively conversation with the friendly locals. You know I can’t resist an opportunity to spread the word about ballet. With a mischievous glint in my eye, I launched into a lively conversation about my favourite dance moves, my love of pink tutus, and the power of ballet to inspire and connect us all. I think I managed to convince a few people to give it a try!
As I settled into the train home, my heart filled with a peaceful satisfaction. I couldn't wait to add this exciting day to my collection of #TutuTravels stories. There’s a simple joy to be found in exploring new places and experiencing the beauty of ballet, regardless of where your journey takes you.
And to answer the question that’s always in your mind, dear reader, yes, I definitely wore my new cyan blue tutu during my adventures!
Stay tuned for more of my ballet-inspired travels! Until next time, remember to always embrace life with a twirl in your step and a dash of pink in your heart.
Until then, keep twirling!
Love,
Emma xx
