My journey started in the classic Emma style: a train journey through the glorious English countryside. There’s something so wonderfully romantic about the gentle chugging, the scenery flashing by, and the smell of old-fashioned train carriages. It’s the perfect way to settle in for a day of exploring and ballet dreaming! 🚂
My first stop was the stunning Rochdale Town Hall, a grand Victorian masterpiece with an ornate clock tower and gorgeous stained glass windows. You can just picture elegant ladies in beautiful gowns entering this building, and honestly, it feels like stepping back in time. I felt instantly at home, spinning through those pirouettes like I’d always belonged there! 💫
Next, I went exploring Rochdale's historic streets. Imagine cobblestone streets, old brick buildings, charming independent shops - I swear I could have stayed in this town forever. The atmosphere was just so delightful, filled with a mix of old-world charm and a vibrant sense of community. Plus, let’s not forget the perfect spots for impromptu ballet performances. Think about it: me, a tutu, a quaint little courtyard, all bathed in the golden glow of the setting sun… it’s like something straight out of a fairytale! 👑
Of course, no visit to a new place would be complete without indulging in local cuisine. So, naturally, I went searching for the perfect pink treat. And wouldn’t you know it? Rochdale has this amazing little tea room called "The Pink Flamingo." (Don’t you just love how serendipitous that is?!).
