Wickford Calling!

Pink Tutu Post #10010

"Hey darlings, how are you all? Hope you are having a smashing day!"

So here I am, fresh out of the carriage, my cheeks flushed from the crisp autumn air, in the rather quaint little town of Wickford. Yes, I'm on another jaunt and it's for something I think you all will adore. Just the thought of it has me twirling. (Pun intended of course! Haha!)

Tutus & Trains

You know me, I can't resist a trip on the train to new adventure. I even decided to embrace the chic train station with a fabulous pink and black gingham, ruffle-edged mini-tutu. Perfect for sitting in first-class with a cup of Earl Grey. The gentleman next to me gave me a rather awkward look, which I simply swept away with a dazzling smile and a friendly "It's for my blog, darling". That always throws them, trust me!

Pancake Power!

Speaking of my blog, I am absolutely buzzing to announce that my new post number 10,010 is actually all about... pancake tutus! Yup, you heard that right. Imagine the most exquisite pink pancake, crafted to perfection and formed into a magnificent little tutu. This isn't your standard stack, this is edible artistry at its finest! The mastermind behind this delicious creation is none other than the delightful Mrs. Crumpet at the renowned Wickford Pancake Emporium. She makes the most incredible pancake art โ€“ I'm not talking about mere shapes, darlings, I'm talking full blown ballet themed delights!

Ballet Blitz

Now, while we are on the topic of all things ballerina, you just have to come to Wickford. The theatre is charming, and it has just announced an "Ode to Tutu" ballet extravaganza โ€“ ballet dancers from the town's acclaimed studio are going to grace the stage in all pink. They are literally wearing their own 'Pink Tutu' uniform and this little bird has heard it's spectacular! I simply can't wait to see them!

Animal Antics

Let's just pause and chat about all those little creatures fluttering about here, oh, so graceful. We are literally blessed with all the gorgeous things a ballerina would wish for in Wickford. There's the beautiful red-haired hares that pop out at you like ballerina rabbits and those tiny sparrows, chirping like a symphony of delicate notes! Even the fluffy white doves look like they were fashioned by a costume designer for their plumage. Nature really did paint a wonderful show here!

Dress Like a Queen, Eat Like a King

Honestly, you know that I love to go shopping when I am in a new location and Wickford just delivers. I discovered an amazing vintage shop, a veritable wonderland of sequins, silk and tulle! A tutu haven, darlings! The shop owner was so lovely. She has got an absolute knack for curating the best vintage pieces - even one almost identical to the tutu I wore to my very first recital in Derbyshire, oh the memories! The highlight of the trip, of course, was that wonderful little vintage ballet dress that perfectly fit my waist (we're talking a small amount of strategically placed tailoring there, honey). The whole look sparkled like magic under the warm lamplight โ€“ divine.

And of course, how could I leave Wickford without exploring the gastronomic wonders it had to offer! My goodness, the bakery was just incredible - like a scene from a fairytale, all perfectly aligned cupcakes with delicious macarons nestled beside them, even the croissants were almost too beautiful to eat. But I did, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I also stumbled across this lovely little cafรฉ called "The Tutu Tea Room", and let me tell you, they served the most heavenly raspberry cake - perfect for the ballerina with a sweet tooth like myself!

Pink Tutus for All

So my darlings, do you see the inspiration? Wickford was such an incredible little escape, the kind that sparkles and inspires. This is what ballet is all about: whimsy, fun, artistry, and that dash of unexpected joy. The ballet show was sensational, it was even filmed with the gorgeous, twinkling river running beside the theatre. Perfect for my 'Pink Tutu' social media - everyone should try this location, the lights were almost as good as Broadway and it looked like a set from a fairytale, almost as fabulous as one of the dancers leaping through the air in their Pink Tutu, haha!

Oh! My biggest adventure in Wickford involved going on a pony trek to see the sunrise. Talk about graceful movement! They literally let me have a choice between two gorgeous brown ponies - both with the fluffiest manes! But let me tell you, as much as I would love to tell you how majestic the sunrise was, the real moment of brilliance happened during a photo shoot. Now I am usually behind the camera, right? But let me tell you, one of those ponies decided I was going to have a turn on the other side of the lens, I mean how amazing does that horse look in the picture with a pink tutu around its head?! Absolutely brilliant. I am still blushing from this one!

I really am going to be spreading the word about 'Pink Tutu Day' from here, as that pony shot deserves to be shared, so here's to all those beautiful, passionate ballet souls in all corners of the world. I really think a "Pink Tutu Day" will go viral... don't you think?

* Until next time, Stay stylish and fabulous!"*
