Tutu Travels: Wigston Magna & A Dash of Italian Glamour! ๐Ÿฉฐ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น

Hello lovelies! ๐Ÿ’– It's Emma here, your friendly neighbourhood tutu enthusiast, and today's blog post marks a very special occasion: Post Number 10014! ๐Ÿพ That's over 10,000 posts celebrating everything pink, sparkly and pirouette-worthy!

So, where have my tutus taken me this time? All the way to the charming little town of Wigston Magna in Leicestershire! Now, I know what you're thinking: Wigston Magna? Not exactly a global hotspot. But trust me, darlings, this quiet town had some big surprises up its sleeve!

A Touch of Italian Chic

Firstly, I was lucky enough to stumble upon this fabulous little Italian boutique tucked away on the high street. They call themselves "Tulips and Tutus", and let me tell you, this is a truly enchanting name for a shop that specialises in... well, everything pink and pretty!

I literally squealed with delight when I walked in. There were racks and racks of stunning, blush-coloured tutus, each one more delicate and dreamy than the next. And the owner, a darling woman named Lucia, is like a real-life fairy godmother. She even has a whole wall dedicated to the most exquisite Italian tulle - oh my, I just couldn't resist picking up a few metres for my next DIY project! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Lucia shared the most fascinating story. Apparently, the shop's name was a tribute to her late grandmother, who had a penchant for ballet and pink tulips. Lucia told me her gran was a huge fan of La Bayadere, which I find absolutely delightful! We chatted for ages, and I realised there's so much to love about this sweet little town beyond its name.

A Bit of Wigston History

Later, I took a stroll through the historic streets and found myself mesmerised by Wigston Magna's local museum. This little gem showcases the town's rich past - from its time as a Roman settlement to its later involvement in the agricultural revolution. Did you know that Wigston was once a hub for producing hosiery? Just fascinating! I have to admit, after a trip through that museum, my love for ballet took a tiny detour - maybe Giselle, with its focus on farmworkers, could make a comeback on my playlist!

Ballet at the Bluebell Theatre

No trip to Wigston Magna would be complete without a visit to the wonderful Bluebell Theatre. I've always loved how intimate community theatre spaces can feel, and the Bluebell did not disappoint. They were putting on a local production of "The Nutcracker" - always a Christmas classic! Although a little less glitz and glamour than the Royal Ballet's performance, it had its own charm. The costumes were adorable (I spied a few pink tutus, naturally!), and the dancers were filled with so much passion and joy.

The Perfect End to a Tutu-Filled Day

After the show, I settled into the cosy corner of a local pub called The Red Lion. Their Sunday roast was a perfect end to a delightful day of pink tulle and theatrical thrills! They had the cutest little pug sat by the fireplace, too. And what's more girly than a tiny, wrinkly-faced, adorable pug with soulful eyes? I just adore these little fellas! ๐Ÿถ ๐Ÿ’–

Horsepower and Pink Delights

And speaking of delights, how does one travel around a delightful little town like Wigston Magna? Why, by horse, of course! I've always dreamed of having my own little pony, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. I was lucky enough to find a local stable that offered riding lessons. The horses were magnificent and the whole experience just took me back to a simpler time - much like the charm of the town itself. ๐ŸŽโœจ

I even managed to snag a picture in my tutu with one of the horses! You have to admit, thatโ€™s a first for the world of ballet-themed blogging! You can find it on my Instagram (www.instagram.com/pinktutu_emma)!

A Final Thought:

Well, darlings, itโ€™s been a whirlwind of pink tutus, Italian tulle, and horse-powered fun in the wonderful Wigston Magna. Iโ€™ll be back soon for more! Until next time, remember to always dance like nobodyโ€™s watching - unless youโ€™re doing it in your favourite pink tutu, then definitely do it with flair and attitude! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Remember, lifeโ€™s a dance. Go on, grab that pink tutu and pirouette into the weekend!

With love, and a touch of sparkle, Emma ๐Ÿ’‹
