Chingford Calling! A Day of Dancing & Delight in a Sunshine Yellow Tutu 💛🩰

Hello lovelies! It's your girl Emma here, checking in from the sunny streets of Chingford! ☀️

As you know, I’m on a mission to spread the joy of ballet and all things pink and fluffy, and today’s adventure was a whirlwind of delight!

This is post number 10153, and as usual, I’ve got plenty to share from my travels. Let’s dive in!

The Sunshine Yellow Adventure Begins!

My journey began in my Derbyshire home, with the early morning sun filtering through the curtains and filling my bedroom with golden light. I knew instantly that a sunny yellow tutu was the perfect choice for the day! This wasn't just any tutu though, this was a sunshine-bright beauty with layers of tulle that shimmered with every twirl! I felt like a walking ray of sunshine!

The train journey from Derbyshire to Chingford is a delightful affair. The countryside whizzed by, filled with spring blooms and frolicking lambs. The train carriage was full of interesting characters – a lady knitting a shawl, a family sharing stories, and even a dapper gentleman with a dog dressed in a tweed coat. The sheer joy of people-watching was the perfect start to my day.

Chingford's Hidden Gems

Chingford, nestled in the leafy suburbs of London, is a little haven for ballet lovers! The moment I stepped off the train, the aroma of fresh croissants wafted in the air and I saw a cute little cafe just across the street called “The Tutu Treat.” Perfect! They had the most delicious looking croissants, but, my ballet dancer instincts kicked in – a hot cup of green tea was the way to go, with a cheeky slice of gluten-free pink cake! It was a delightful start to my day.

My first stop in Chingford was the The Tudor Shopping Arcade. A place brimming with delightful antique shops and craft stores, with every window showcasing a piece of art or a beautiful piece of antique china. I found a gorgeous vintage brooch in the shape of a pink rose and knew it would make the perfect addition to my tutu ensemble!

A Ballet Workshop in a Fairy-tale Studio

The highlight of my day, however, was the ballet workshop at the Epping Forest Dance Academy. Nestled amongst the lush green trees and rolling hills, this beautiful studio looked like it stepped straight out of a fairytale!

The classes were so much fun. The students were eager and talented, the instructors warm and encouraging. I had such a blast joining in and learning some new moves! It’s so important to keep learning, no matter how much experience you have.

Later that afternoon, we had a little “pink party” outside in the garden of the academy. Everyone dusted off their pink tutus and shared a picnic in the sunshine. It felt magical, surrounded by like-minded people who share my love of dance, tutus, and all things pink!

A Magical Encounter

A memorable highlight of the day was a chance meeting with the most adorable little fox. I was walking through the woods near the academy and suddenly I saw a tiny orange flash dash past my feet! He looked up at me with the brightest, most curious eyes I’ve ever seen.

I stayed perfectly still for a few minutes, trying to avoid any sudden movements. It was an incredible encounter that filled me with joy. I love wildlife so much and couldn't help but feel connected to this tiny creature.

The Perfect Ending to a Perfect Day

I ended my day with a delicious dinner in Chingford. It was a local family-run pub with cozy corners and crackling fires. I opted for a vegetarian meal with plenty of fresh vegetables, a delicious glass of sparkling cider, and, of course, a delightful piece of chocolate mousse to finish it off. What else could you possibly ask for after a day filled with dancing and joy?

As I sat at the bar, a gentleman came in with his dog, who was sporting a tiny bow tie! I had to share a laugh with him - it was like a delightful ballet of gentlemanly etiquette played out with a bow-tie and tail-wagging canine!

Chingford, you charmed my socks (or rather my tutu!) right off. You were a beautiful blend of art, nature, and community. A reminder that true joy can be found everywhere, as long as you have a twinkle in your eye, a spring in your step and a tutu that’s ready to dance the night away!

That’s all for today!
