Strood: A Tutu-tastic Adventure! ๐ฉฐ๐
Hey darlings, it's your favourite tutu-loving traveller, Emma, here! ๐โโ๏ธ Today's blog post is extra special because it marks blog post number 10235 - that's a whole lot of tutus and pink! ๐
As you know, my motto is "Spread the tutu love!" I believe that everyone should experience the joy of dancing, whether it's a twirl in your living room or a grand performance at the Royal Opera House. And today, I'm bringing the tutu-love to the lovely town of Strood!
I travelled here by train, which is always such a romantic journey. Watching the world fly by from my window is the perfect way to clear your mind and get excited about new adventures. And as I gazed out at the green countryside, I couldn't help but daydream about a world where everyone wore a pink tutu, prancing through life with effortless grace and joy! ๐ฉฐ๐
But I'm getting carried away! The first thing that struck me about Strood was the incredible atmosphere. There's a bustling energy that reminds me of a ballet studio full of talented dancers getting ready for a big performance. The shops were a vibrant explosion of colour, like a kaleidoscope of pinks and purples, and the scent of freshly baked cakes drifted down the streets. Oh, and you can't talk about Strood without mentioning the fabulous antique shops. It was like stepping back in time - I could have spent hours exploring them all, dreaming of past ballerinas who would have been dancing on those very streets!
Strood Street Ballet:
After I'd explored the town, I decided to turn it into my very own stage. This is my new thing, you see: I like to find random locations in my travels and make them a 'street ballet'. The beauty of ballet is that it can happen anywhere! Imagine me, in my yellow tutu, a swirl of movement and sunshine, against the backdrop of a brick wall adorned with blooming flowers! The locals were a delight! Some even stopped to applaud, as if watching a real performance. It felt amazing to share the magic of ballet with everyone. ๐
The Magical History of Strood:
You know me, I love a bit of history, and Strood had it in spades! I spent some time exploring the magnificent Medway Valley, where ancient Roman history unfolds before your eyes. I learned about the history of Strood - a former medieval village, the Romans even built a fort here! Imagine them, stoic figures in their sandals and tunics, a far cry from a flamboyant tutu, yet united in their love for art, just like me. Maybe they even had their own version of ballet! I love to imagine these scenarios - it's just like stepping into a history book come to life.
A Touch of the Wild:
Strood also has a secret weapon - the glorious wildlife of the Medway Valley. As I walked along the paths, I spotted a family of deer gazing at me with gentle curiosity. They were like a dance troupe of nature, gracefully navigating the green fields. I found myself drawn to their gentle beauty and how at ease they were with their surroundings. And of course, it gave me the perfect excuse to add a few more wildlife-inspired photographs to my tutu wardrobe!
Pink Tutu Thoughts:
I always like to end my blogs with a pink-tutu inspired thought for the day! For me, the magic of Strood lies in its vibrant mix of tradition and modern life, just like my pink tutus - both old and new! I hope my trip has inspired you to try something new, to embrace the magic of movement and to dance your way through life. Whether it's learning a new step, trying on a new outfit, or just exploring a new place, always remember that the journey is just as important as the destination. So go on, embrace your inner ballerina, find your pink tutu, and twirl your way to a brighter tomorrow! ๐
