Cleethorpes Calling! 🩰💖 (Post #10236)

Hello, lovelies! It's Emma here, fresh from a whirlwind trip to Cleethorpes and feeling all sorts of pink-hued happy! 💖

This week's adventures were all about a classic British seaside escape with a touch of twirling magic. Cleethorpes has always held a special place in my heart - growing up in Derbyshire, a trip to the coast was a treasured summer tradition. This time though, I was determined to add a splash of 'Emma-style' to my seaside escape.

It all started with a thrilling journey to Cleethorpes on the train, my trusty companion (and pink backpack, of course!). I have to admit, something about a train ride brings out my inner 'prima ballerina' – I couldn't help but stretch out, feeling the rhythm of the tracks under my feet. Even the little old ladies with their floral bonnets seemed to be charmed by my bright pink tutu, flashing a knowing smile and nodding their heads as I practiced a few graceful arabesques.

Upon arrival, I was greeted with a glorious scene. The salty air kissed my cheeks, gulls soared overhead, and the golden sands stretched as far as my eyes could see. Cleethorpes has a vibrant, buzzing energy - from the traditional amusement arcades with their flashing lights to the ice cream parlours churning out delicious scoops of pink strawberry delight. I, of course, indulged in a huge pink strawberry ice cream cone – the perfect seaside fuel for my pink tutu-wearing adventures!

My first stop was the charming Cleethorpes Pier. A riot of colourful candy floss stalls, arcade games, and, of course, a lovely seaside band playing lively waltzes that made me want to twirl right then and there. A group of children, watching me flit around in my tutu, asked me to join their game of "Twirling Princesses" and even a cute labrador pup attempted to 'pirouette' with me!

Then it was onto the beach for some serious ‘ballet on the sand’ time. Picture this – me, standing on the pristine beach, the salty wind whipping through my pink tutu, as I stretched and practiced some pliés and tendues. I imagined I was in a grand ballet performance with the ocean waves providing a rousing soundtrack. A group of giggling teenage girls even requested I teach them some ballet moves, their shrieks of joy adding to the beautiful symphony of the beach. I can safely say, there is no greater feeling than spreading the love of ballet by the sea.

As the day warmed up, we (yes, you read right, the 'we' - I was not alone in my tutu journey!) hopped aboard a horse-drawn carriage for a scenic tour of the town. The gentle sway of the carriage and the soft clip-clop of the horse's hooves were like a waltz rhythm and I had to let my pink tulle twirl in the breeze, much to the delight of my fellow travellers and some adorable grey squirrels enjoying a midday picnic nearby.

Later in the afternoon, I found myself mesmerized by the seals on Cleethorpes beach. These furry creatures were a sight to behold. A mother seal with her playful pup splashed around in the shallows, reminding me of the gentle grace of a 'Pas de Deux'. It’s no secret that animals bring out my inner ballerina and seeing these majestic seals with their sleek movements and expressive eyes had me pondering the natural grace of the animal kingdom. And just in case, you're wondering – YES! My tutu was still on - I couldn't let those playful pups see a ballet lover without their tutu!

I ended my evening by treating myself to a beautiful fish and chips, a traditional British seaside treat, washed down with a cup of Earl Grey tea at the local seaside cafe. As I savoured the salty sea air and the delicious aroma of freshly caught fish, I couldn't help but feel a deep sense of contentment and a twirl in my soul! And what could be a more perfect ending to my seaside adventures? Well, I must confess to having a few secret twirls on the train ride back to Derbyshire, as if reminiscing on my pink tutu filled escapades with a gentle waltz-like sway.

Pink tutu mission alert: I think we need a “Pink Tutu Sea Party” - can you imagine a sparkling, pink-tutu-filled beach day filled with pirouette contests, laughter, and a delicious spread of strawberry and pink lemonade? It would be a magical moment! And, of course, a day like that would be a wonderful opportunity for a grand ‘balletic flash mob’, spreading the pink tutu love and bringing the joyous spirit of ballet to the beach!

So, my dear pink-tutu loving friends, next time you're feeling the need for a little seaside magic don't hesitate to grab your pinkest tutu and head to Cleethorpes! You won't regret it, I promise. Let’s all keep twirling, spreading the pink tutu magic and encouraging everyone to embrace their inner dancer!

Until next time, keep twirling beautifully!

Love, Emma 💖
