Highbury High Jinks in a Yellow Tutu! 💖🩰 #10303

Hello my darlings! Emma here, back from a whirlwind trip to Highbury and bursting with excitement to share it all with you. It's official, the pink tutu movement is spreading! You'll never guess what happened... but first, a little update from my life.

The Derbyshire countryside is looking absolutely spectacular, a carpet of golden browns and russet reds after the summer sun has been doing its best to bring in the harvest. Even though the weather's turning colder, there's a cosy feeling in the air. It reminds me of when we were kids, and we'd play in the woods all day, coming home rosy-cheeked and tired, but so happy. We'd then get a hot drink and a warming biscuit from my nan – her famous treacle tart is still a favourite of mine. It's no wonder we called ourselves 'the gang' - we were like one big, happy family.

Speaking of family, my little niece has just started ballet lessons! I'm so proud of her. She's only four, and already her grace and confidence shine. When I took her to class the other day, we both ended up in the little girl’s tutu area and tried on so many! Seeing her in her first pink tutu – the look on her face was pure joy, so precious. Maybe it’s the little tutu that’s the secret weapon for happiness – just as much as for dancing! It made me feel nostalgic about my first time in a tutu. Do you remember, darlings, when it was the most magical thing in the world? I could spin for hours in that sparkly pink fluff. Ah, to relive those days.

But enough reminiscing, let's dive into my adventures in Highbury. It all started with a spur-of-the-moment decision – a spontaneous journey fuelled by nothing but the sheer love of the city and my darling, trusty old steed, Daisy. (I might have also needed some new ballet shoes after last week's classes were a bit... enthusiastic, to put it politely!). Yes, that's right, Highbury bound by horse! Now, you may not think a horse and a carriage is the usual mode of transport to a big city, but trust me, darlings, it was the most enchanting ride! Daisy just loves me, I know she would go to the ends of the Earth for me – or Highbury, for that matter! And even better, my journey included a delicious picnic stop at a hidden country pub with beautiful views, and of course, it was the perfect excuse to wear my lovely new pink dress – which just happens to have a hint of lilac to it. Such a fab colour combination.

When I finally arrived in Highbury, the atmosphere was buzzing, almost electric with excitement. It was time for a theatre show - 'Ballet Under the Stars!' Can you imagine, darlings, dancing beneath the starry sky? Pure magic. Now, the show wasn't actually under a starry sky - just under a giant marquee, lit with fairy lights. It was as enchanting. And it turns out a fellow tutu enthusiast was in the audience, dressed head-to-toe in pink. We had a chat about all things ballet after the show, sharing tips and swapping stories. You know I'm always happy to meet new fellow enthusiasts, my darling pink tutu sisters, like that.

And oh, the performance was fantastic. You know I’ve never been to a theatre where they allow you to munch on delicious cupcakes, so I brought some in my signature pink tutu tote bag. Yes, that tote bag is legendary - filled with anything a dancer could possibly need! A ballet book, spare tights (I know, everyone needs a backup plan!), my special lipstick for those 'on the go' moments, and some of those wonderful, yummy almond chocolates I just can't get enough of. All perfectly organised inside my pink tutu tote, darling! So after the amazing ballet show (let’s just say the finale was absolutely breathtaking – especially when the entire troupe was swirling across the stage in beautiful blue and yellow tutus!), I decided to try out my own dance moves on the local Highbury dance floor. A group of ladies at the back saw my lovely pink tutu and invited me to join their dance. I mean, it’s all very well wearing the tutu but what good is a tutu if you don’t get up and move! We even had a little mini-class to help with my dance moves - one of them showed me a step I didn’t even know existed! It's moments like these that make my heart sing. So much fun.

Speaking of fun, one of the ladies told me about this fantastic shop - it sells just about every shade of pink you could ever imagine! A little pink haven, a wonderland of tutus! She swears there's even a yellow one there, a true vintage classic. Of course, as a tutu enthusiast, I just had to see it! You just know a good tutu-shopping trip never disappoints.

So, Highbury, you won my heart! Your charm and vibrancy just oozed out of every corner. You even gave me the chance to expand the pink tutu movement – who knows what magic this city holds next! And if you happen to see a pink tutu whizzing past on a horse-drawn carriage in the near future, give a wave! It’s me, darling, back on another tutu adventure! Until next time, darlings! Don't forget to stay stylish, and above all, always wear pink!
