Hello my gorgeous twirlers! It's Emma here, bringing you sunshine on this fine Thursday straight from the heart of Rainham. I know what you're thinking, 'Emma, Rainham? Isn't that a bit...unconventional?' And to that I say, 'Why not?'
The world is full of hidden gems, and frankly, my dear, I'm all about discovering them. So, off I trotted in my sunshine yellow tutu (because a little burst of brightness is always good, even on a gloomy day), hopping on a steam train straight from the Derbyshire Dales.
Oh, did I mention my love affair with steam trains? They're so romantic and grand! You practically feel like you've stepped straight into a Jane Austen novel. This one had been lovingly restored, all gleaming chrome and plush velvet seats. It was a true gentleman's journey, perfect for a little introspective writing time, planning my upcoming 'Tutu' tour across Europe. Imagine: a travelling ballet performance troupe in our signature pink tutus!
The carriage was filled with chattering families, a gaggle of boisterous school children, and an old chap with a tweed coat and a very grumpy terrier. It reminded me of a scene straight out of 'Wallace and Gromit'! We even passed through fields with grazing horses โ I swear, one gave me a cheeky wink as I went by. Now that's what I call a warm welcome!
Rainham itself, nestled amidst a sprawl of leafy lanes and rolling hills, was just as charming. The locals were delightful, all smiles and eager to chat about the local sights and sounds. One little boy even declared my tutu 'simply splendid!' You see, this is the kind of reaction I live for โ spreading the tutu love, one bright yellow twirl at a time!
My main reason for visiting Rainham? To see a magnificent horse ballet performance! Now, you wouldn't think a little village like this would have a grand equestrian show, would you? But I tell you, they put on a dazzling display! The horses were majestic, trained to dance with incredible precision and grace. I mean, can you even imagine a group of majestic stallions waltzing in sync? I had to pinch myself โ it was absolutely mesmerising!
Speaking of ballet, my heart belongs to the theatre, of course. The sheer magic of a live performance! As I wandered through Rainham's town centre, I spotted a quaint old building tucked away on a side street โ The Rose Theatre. Its name sparked a surge of excitement in my heart โ this had to be something special. It wasn't a traditional grand opera house, more like a cosy Victorian music hall. Still, it was the perfect setting for my dream โ a show entirely dedicated to 'ballet street', showcasing the artistry and creativity of local dancers and choreographers.
I could see the future as clear as day! Imagine โ Emma's Ballet Street: a national tour featuring diverse and unique choreography that pushes the boundaries of what ballet can be. Think urban landscapes as backdrops, hip hop fusion, street art as costumes, a truly vibrant fusion of dance and art. And who knows, maybe Iโll even incorporate a few of those charming horses from the equestrian show! Now, where can I find a horse-loving ballerinaโฆ
This week's #tutuselfie was taken right outside The Rose Theatre. Me, twirling in my sunshine yellow tutu, against a backdrop of vibrant flowers and the warm afternoon glow. My camera practically captured the very spirit of Rainham. And guess what? I have an even better surprise in store. Tomorrow, I'm heading to a breathtaking bird sanctuary! Who knows what feathered friends I might encounter. And trust me, I'm ready to spread the tutu love wherever I go!
Catch you tomorrow, darlings, for another whirlwind adventure! And remember, www.pink-tutu.com is the only place for your daily dose of tutu inspiration, from breathtaking photos to heartwarming stories to, of course, a splash of my signature pink.
