Hello darlings! It’s Emma here, bringing you a dose of pink and pirouettes from the gorgeous Royal Leamington Spa! Today’s outfit? A custom-made pink tutu that’s so fluffy, I could practically float away! 💅💖
Let me tell you, this trip was a complete fairytale. Ever since I saw the poster for a ballet festival here, I knew I had to come. And how could I possibly resist a weekend dedicated to the most magical art form in the world? Plus, the journey was almost as lovely as the destination!
My dear friend Alice and I, who are basically two peas in a tutu, decided to take the train. I’m quite a romantic soul, you see, and there’s something undeniably charming about watching the world whizz past the window. Not to mention, there’s plenty of time to chat about everything from our favourite ballet steps to what colour tutu to wear next! (Spoiler alert: pink is always the answer. 🤫)
Leamington Spa: A Ballet Lover’s Paradise
Stepping off the train at Leamington Spa Station, the air was alive with a joyful buzz. Everywhere I looked, I saw other ballet enthusiasts sporting adorable outfits, their smiles brighter than a spotlight. And those tutus! Oh my, those tutus! They came in every shade of pink you can imagine, from soft baby pink to a bold fuchsia, and everything in between!
Our first stop was the Royal Spa Centre, where the festival was in full swing. It was an absolute explosion of colour, creativity, and energy. There were workshops, demonstrations, performances, and even a special display of vintage tutus! Honestly, I think I spent a good ten minutes simply gazing at the costumes, each more exquisite than the last.
Alice and I decided to join a “Tutu and Tiara” workshop led by the wonderful ballerina, Isabella Thorne. Let me tell you, that woman is a whirlwind of talent! She taught us a lovely sequence that involved twirling, leaps, and of course, some fabulous poses for Instagram. 💃👑
Later that evening, we saw a performance by the renowned London Ballet Company. It was an incredible experience! The dancers were so graceful and expressive, telling a captivating story with every movement. I was especially moved by the final act, where a young girl discovers the joy of dancing and embraces the power of self-expression. It reminded me of my own journey, of falling in love with ballet and finding a way to share that passion with the world.
Afternoon Tea in Style
No trip to Royal Leamington Spa is complete without afternoon tea! We indulged in a delightfully posh tea at the grand Regency Tea Rooms, tucked away in a charming little alleyway. The atmosphere was so chic and sophisticated, it almost felt like we were stepping back in time. 🍰☕
And of course, no proper afternoon tea is complete without a gorgeous teacup, which is almost as important as the scones themselves (although, don't tell Alice!). Speaking of tea, we decided to try some of the local tea, a beautiful blend called “The Leamington Lady,” made with delicate pink roses and Earl Grey. It was divine, just as beautiful and charming as the town itself.
Finding My Pink Flamingo Inspiration
Later in the day, we took a stroll through the beautiful Jephson Gardens, where nature's beauty blended with the vibrant atmosphere of the festival. The gardens were a delightful spectacle of colours and scents, the perfect place to recharge after a day of dancing and exploring.
One of my favourite things about this town is its incredible wildlife. The Jephson Gardens are home to all sorts of delightful creatures, and while we were there, we even saw a family of pink flamingos! It was an unexpected treat! They were such beautiful birds, and I was so captivated by their graceful movements. 🐦🦩
Of course, the encounter got me thinking… maybe I should try a new colour in my tutu collection. Flamingo pink is certainly making its way to the top of my list!

This weekend was an absolute dream, and I can't wait to return. Leamington Spa is the perfect escape for anyone who loves ballet, beauty, and a dash of whimsy. If you ever have the opportunity to visit, don't hesitate – pack your most gorgeous tutu and embrace the pink flamingo within!
