Hello my darling pink tutu princesses!
It's Emma here, writing to you from the most enchanting place I've visited in ages: Stratford Upon Avon! This little town is literally brimming with magic, history, and, of course, some seriously spectacular theatre. It felt like stepping into a fairytale, especially with my dazzling fairy-themed tutu shimmering in the afternoon sunshine.
I travelled down by train, which I always find so much more romantic than a car journey. Imagine, whizzing past fields of golden wheat, a gentle breeze rustling through the open window, and the occasional flock of sheep gazing curiously at the train. I spent the journey daydreaming about the upcoming performance, "A Midsummer Night's Dream", with visions of flitting fairies, mischievous Puck, and a mischievous Bottom the weaver.
Reaching Stratford itself, I felt an immediate wave of charm wash over me. Quaint Tudor houses lined cobbled streets, their flower boxes bursting with vibrant colour, and the River Avon shimmered invitingly just a stone's throw from the theatre. You can just imagine Shakespeare himself strolling through the streets, sketching out the plots for his timeless masterpieces.
Now, let's talk about my tutu, shall we? I felt like a proper fairy princess, with layers upon layers of soft pink tulle, adorned with sparkling sequins and delicate floral accents. It truly was a magical creation! I have to give a shoutout to my incredible dressmaker, Lily, who conjured up this exquisite masterpiece for me. She knows how to turn my tutu dreams into reality, and I’m eternally grateful!
As I wandered towards the Royal Shakespeare Company's theatre, my heart fluttered with excitement. It’s always a little magical entering a theatre, like stepping through a portal into another world. Today, that world was Shakespearean, a realm of fantastical creatures and poetic words.
The performance itself was breathtaking. The costumes were a feast for the eyes, the acting captivating, and the overall effect, a swirling mix of enchantment and pure joy. It was magical! The audience was spellbound, enthralled by the whimsical tales and timeless themes that have captivated hearts for centuries.
Speaking of enchanting moments, the afternoon couldn't have ended better. While I was strolling along the river bank, I was fortunate to stumble upon a herd of deer, so graceful and serene. They grazed peacefully amongst the wildflowers, seemingly unaware of my presence. I stood mesmerized, captivated by their elegance and tranquility. It felt like another perfect touch to an already fairytale day!
I must confess, Stratford really tempted me to take up a more traditional form of transport - a horse! It felt like something straight out of one of my favourite Shakespearean romances! Though, perhaps a bit impractical when you're on a blogger schedule! But who knows, maybe I'll be trotting around on a beautiful chestnut stallion next time!
But speaking of practicality, my day wasn’t entirely whimsical, there's a whole side to this pink tutu lifestyle you haven’t seen yet! Between taking photographs of my delightful tutu and marvelling at Shakespearean beauty, I had some hardcore ballet training this morning.
My morning was a whirlwind of tendus, relevés, and grand jetés - yes, that means lots and lots of stretching and sweating, my darlings. It’s not all glitz and glamour, but it’s worth it when I hit the stage and dance my heart out! I really believe that ballet can empower any woman to achieve anything, and it’s something everyone should at least try. So go on, find a class near you and give it a whirl!
As I prepare for my next big adventure (oh, you just wait, darling!), remember - a little bit of fairy magic can be found in the most unexpected places! Embrace your inner fairy princess, slip into your own beautiful tutu, and go forth, my darlings, with grace and glitter. Remember, a life filled with ballet and tutus is the sweetest life of all.
With a flutter of my pink tutu,
Emma
XOXO
