Folkestone Flutter: Tutu Adventures Amongst the Cliffs ??

Post Number 10971

Hello, lovelies! It's your girl Emma, signing in from sunny Folkestone, and let me tell you, this place is absolutely bursting with beauty! ? The salty air, the rolling hills, the charm of the seaside... it's practically a dream come true! And you know what always makes a dream come true for me? A new tutu, of course! ?

Today's outfit? Let's just say I'm embracing the wild side... literally! ? I've gone for a blush pink tulle tutu adorned with a little scattering of butterflies, a nod to the flitting butterflies I spotted in the park this morning! You see, when I'm planning my outfits, it's all about the environment, love! A delicate rose pink to mirror the blushing sea, a swirling tutu that echoes the fluttering seabirds, and those cheeky butterfly embellishments are my little tribute to nature's intricate beauty! ? I might not be a bird or a butterfly, but with my tutu on, I can certainly flutter with the best of them!

Now, let's chat about getting here. Did you know the train journey down to Folkestone is one of the most beautiful journeys you could imagine? Rolling through the countryside, the lush green hills painted in hues of emerald and jade, the little sheep and horses grazing peacefully... It's so incredibly calming and peaceful! I spent the entire journey sketching the scenes in my little sketchbook. I must confess, the only downside of this scenic route was resisting the urge to break into a mini "Swan Lake" pirouette! ? After all, who can resist dancing to the rhythm of the chugging train engine? You tell me! ?

Folkestone itself is just a delight! It's so much more than just the typical seaside town, don't be fooled by the iconic pier. This place has a vibrancy and history that’s hard to resist. From the quirky independent shops bursting with treasures to the beautiful views of the French coast across the shimmering Channel, Folkestone has truly captured my heart. ? Not to mention the abundance of picturesque parks and cliff walks! Talk about picturesque views...

Speaking of which, I decided to spend my morning exploring the Folkestone cliffs and wow, it's breathtaking! I even spotted a curious little otter hiding under the rocks... It really was like something out of a storybook. It's moments like these that make my wanderlust heart sing! ?

The cliff walk itself is so dramatic and beautiful! The sheer cliffs dropping into the turquoise sea, the waves crashing and roaring against the jagged rocks...it's incredibly powerful. I found a quiet spot to enjoy the views and had the most inspiring mini photoshoot with my trusty tutu. I felt like a princess on the edge of the world! ?

My day's not over yet though! I'm heading for a spot of "ballet therapy" this evening at a local dance studio in Folkestone. Nothing beats an evening of stretching and pirouetting after a long day exploring! They're putting on a performance of Swan Lake and I'm absolutely giddy with anticipation. Swan Lake is one of my all-time favourite ballets, the story and the costumes are simply mesmerizing! ? This one's even going to have live music which will add a whole other level of beauty. After the show, I might just treat myself to a spot of fish and chips, wrapped in newspaper like it's still the '50s! ? It's not exactly "refined" ballet girl dining but sometimes you gotta go with what your heart (and stomach) desires!

Oh, and let's talk about the evening sun. It's setting in hues of fiery orange and blushing pink, mirroring my own favourite colours! You know what that means, don't you? I'm absolutely obligated to don my pink tutu and dance under this dazzling sunset! This sunset ballet performance might just be one of the highlights of my trip... ? I'm not one for holding back when it comes to capturing the beauty of the moment... so if you happen to see a graceful figure fluttering against the horizon tonight, that's probably just me! ?

Stay tuned, lovelies! You know what they say, a tutu a day keeps the blues away! (Although I must admit, this sunshine and fresh sea air might be the actual cure for the blues!) ?

Till next time,

Emma ?
