Hey lovelies,
It's Emma here, ready to whisk you away on another dazzling journey! Today we're heading to the seaside, to the beautiful coastal town of Scarborough. I’m writing to you all from the warm, salty air with a light breeze in my hair! It’s the perfect spot to wear this new tutu, it’s so European chic!
As you all know, my love for travel is just as deep as my love for all things ballet. Today, I chose a vintage railway carriage to whisk me to the seaside, which, as you can imagine, made the trip even more magical! Nothing beats watching the rolling countryside from a quaint window, listening to the rhythm of the wheels clicking on the tracks, while wearing my tutu of course!
This pink number, darling, is one of a kind. It’s adorned with delicate floral details and layers upon layers of tulle that are absolutely exquisite. And let's not forget the tiny pink butterflies that dance around the hemline – so fitting for my seaside escapade.
Upon arriving in Scarborough, the charming seaside air hit me instantly, a refreshing blend of salty air and the scent of fresh sea salt. My first stop was, of course, the beach, where I pranced about in the sand, feeling the fine grains tickle my toes with every graceful step. It felt like something out of a movie, and, you guessed it, I took some seriously good photos, all of which will be going straight to the Instagram feed! (Don't forget to follow @Emma_PinkTutu!).
Later, I found myself strolling through the vibrant streets of Scarborough, with my new, sparkly pink ballet shoes gleaming in the sunlight, which was definitely a conversation starter, let me tell you! The cobbled alleys and bustling marketplace added to the fairytale feel, making me wish I could hop in a carriage and head off on a new adventure!
Speaking of fairytale, what is more magical than a visit to the Scarborough Open Air Theatre! This iconic, majestic setting played host to the cutest, fluffiest bunnies! Just as I was wondering where they all came from, out they popped from the lush garden to nibble on some clover. Who knew you could combine the balletic wonder of a seaside trip, with adorable wildlife. Just another reminder that magic is all around, especially when you’re wearing your favourite tutu.
As a true dance enthusiast, I wouldn’t be complete if I didn't seek out a ballet class! And I’m so pleased to tell you, that there’s a beautiful studio tucked away just on the harbour side. The salty breeze could be a little distracting, but that just makes for a very refreshing experience! After a delightful ballet lesson, the studio’s owners and I sat down and discussed their philosophy of getting every child involved in dance – just as it is for me. Just think, if they could achieve it here, just imagine what we can do together.
While in Scarborough, I stumbled across the most delightful little pink bakery, it was like something out of a sweet dreams! They had little ballerina cakes, ballet shoes in marzipan, everything pink and sweet imaginable! It made for an afternoon well-spent, and some absolutely gorgeous Instagram photos. (don't worry, I will be posting them on my page tomorrow).
After all this lovely food and adventures, I headed towards the local museum where they had an exhibition dedicated to ballet history and choreography. If anyone has a spare day, and you’re in this part of Yorkshire, be sure to visit. It really gave me the opportunity to reflect on where ballet is going and, what more we can all do. They’ve got some spectacular tutu's too, much to my delight!
So, my lovelies, here's to seaside adventures, fluffy bunny encounters, delicious pink treats, ballet classes and, of course, beautiful tutus! A great day to take my blog tally to number 10976, as a testament to how ballet brings such magic into life, especially with your very own pink tutu!
Until next time,
Emma xx www.pink-tutu.com
