Cleethorpes Calling! ?? (Post #11010)

Hey darlings! It's Emma here, back from another whirlwind adventure, and this time it was all about the seaside and that ever-so-fabulous Cleethorpes! ?

Now, if you know me, you know I'm a girl who loves a good tutu, and a good trip. And Cleethorpes really delivered!

But let's rewind a bit… my journey started in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside. I was already feeling the need for a little sea air and sand between my toes. Instead of a boring car ride, I opted for something a bit more... magical. That's right, a horse-drawn carriage ride! It's something I've wanted to do for ages, and it didn't disappoint. Picture this: a vintage carriage, the gentle clip-clop of hooves, and me, with a giant pink tutu billowing behind me as we trotted along the country lanes. You just can't beat that for a true fairytale feeling!

Arriving in Cleethorpes, I was immediately taken with the Victorian charm of the place. The seafront was alive with the sounds of happy chatter, excited children, and of course, the rhythmic thrum of the sea itself. It was the perfect backdrop for a pink-tutu-tastic day out!

I'm a big fan of those quirky vintage seaside shops, and Cleethorpes had them in abundance. One shop in particular, "Seashell Treasures", became my happy place for a couple of hours. I came out with a beautiful, delicate seashell necklace – a perfect reminder of this seaside getaway!

But it wouldn't be a proper Emma adventure without a ballet class. So, off I trotted to the Cleethorpes Dance Academy – they had a gorgeous pink and lilac studio that was almost too beautiful to dance in! It was all about pirouettes by the seaside and exploring the potential of my tutu with the wind swirling around it! It truly felt like an effortless pirouette as the sea air lifted the tulle.

Speaking of tutus, Cleethorpes did not disappoint! The seafront is the perfect spot for some twirling action – it feels so liberating to let your tutu flow in the wind. As I twirled my way down the promenade, I got so many compliments, a couple of high fives, and a "good for you!" from an elderly gentleman with a twinkle in his eye. That's what I call good energy!

After my dance class, I treated myself to some proper Cleethorpes fare – a delicious fish and chips by the sea. There's something about the salty air, the sound of the waves crashing on the shore, and the taste of fresh fish that just feels so right!

The highlight of my trip, though, had to be the impromptu sea-inspired performance I whipped up with a group of local dancers! It started with a spontaneous chat with some lovely women I met at a café, all big ballet fans. One thing led to another, and next thing I know, we were all in a flurry of pink tutus on the beach, creating a beautiful impromptu performance with the ocean as our backdrop! We performed snippets from classics like Swan Lake and the Nutcracker. The audience were the beach-goers, who stopped and stared at this wonderful, unique dance spectacle. We were met with smiles, cheers, and even some excited applause! It's a good thing my pink tutu is made of stretchy material – it certainly had to withstand quite a bit of enthusiastic dancing!

Now, I’m not going to lie, the beach did make my tutu a bit sandy… which, you know, is a bit of a problem for a girl who loves a clean, pristine look. So, a trip to a laundromat to wash my tutu was a must! I love those vintage machines! I felt like I was back in time in my grandma's kitchen – washing everything from fluffy towels to tutu fabrics in those lovely enamel tubs! It reminded me of another important fact; when it comes to tutu care, even the fanciest, frilliest ones are washable and we can keep them pristine to grace more beautiful dances and outings!

A final stop before heading back was the Cleethorpes Coastal Park, a hidden gem. There, amongst the birdsong and wildlife, I was totally lost in the beauty of nature – the sea breeze in my face, the smell of the salt marsh in my hair, and my pink tutu blowing gently in the breeze.

Now, you might be wondering, "Emma, did you wear a tutu the entire trip?". The answer? You betcha! I believe every occasion calls for a touch of sparkle – and, in my world, that's definitely pink and a bit of twirling. It brings joy, smiles, and a sprinkle of magic wherever I go. And if that's not enough to inspire someone to try ballet or at least embrace their inner sparkle – then I don't know what is!

So, Cleethorpes, thank you for the beautiful memories, the amazing dance adventures, the fish and chips, the sea, the sunshine, and all those amazing photos I took. And as always, remember: if you've got a passion, let it flow! Be bold, be you, and rock your own pink tutu – the world is your stage, and I can't wait to see what you do with it.
