Hello my darlings! It's Emma here, back from a whirlwind trip to Brighton, and oh my, it was a proper pink-tutu dream! Let's just say this post is full of tutus, a dash of seaside charm, and all the pink goodness you can handle.
Brighton has a special place in my heart - it's a vibrant, playful, and oh-so-stylish seaside town. You could say it's a perfect tutu playground! I decided to ditch the car for this trip and, with a big pink rucksack overflowing with tutu delights, hopped on the train for a little scenic journey to the south coast.
Arriving in Brighton was a joy in itself - the salty air, the cheerful cries of seagulls, and the sight of the iconic Brighton Pier, like a giant pink and yellow striped lollipop, were simply breathtaking. It's all the whimsy and charm you'd want, wrapped up in a beautiful, breezy coastal package.
First stop was the Brighton Pavilion. Imagine this: a grand building, a perfect example of Regency architecture, decorated with bright pink and shimmering gold. This royal residence (and former palace) was practically begging for a tutu photoshoot! I found myself twirling with such glee, feeling every inch the princess in a sparkling pink tulle skirt that caught the sunlight beautifully.
Next on the agenda? The Royal Pavilion Gardens - a breathtaking oasis in the heart of the city, with its beautiful floral displays and serene walkways. It was a perfect setting for a graceful ballet routine, so I, of course, had to take the opportunity for a little freestyle practice. The squirrels watching me were very appreciative, and let me tell you, I was certainly feeling a lot more limber after my impromptu performance!
After a quick refuel at a sweet little cafe overlooking the beach (a delicious pink iced coffee, obviously!), it was time for a proper beach trip. Now, you can't come to Brighton and not walk the famous pebbles, can you? I opted for my favourite sparkly pink swimsuit (always matching my mood) and had a fabulous time dipping my toes in the cool ocean water. You know what I love about the beach? It's like a giant dance floor. You feel so free to express yourself and twirl away to the sound of the crashing waves!
But the day didn't end there. No, no, not for this ballerina! Brighton has an incredibly vibrant and diverse arts scene, and of course, it had to include a ballet performance! I had the chance to see "Swan Lake" at the beautiful Brighton Dome, a stunning venue with an almost regal presence. The grace of the dancers, the emotive storytelling, the beautiful costumes – it was everything a ballet lover could dream of. My heart literally ached with appreciation for the pure talent I witnessed that evening.
Before hopping back on the train, a quick stop at the Brighton Lanes was in order. These bustling streets are home to a rainbow of quirky shops and hidden gems. I picked up some colourful fabric remnants for future tutu projects and found the perfect, vintage, hand-painted pink tote bag to carry all my dance essentials.
And so, another glorious tutu-filled day in Brighton came to an end. It was an experience bursting with colour, laughter, and inspiration. I couldn't help but be reminded of what this little seaside town represents: freedom, playfulness, and the joy of expression.
My advice to everyone? Grab your most beautiful, sparkly, pinkest tutu and head to Brighton! Embrace the sunshine, the salty air, and the chance to be your absolute best, most glamorous self! I promise you, it will be an experience you'll never forget!
