Hey my lovelies! It's Emma here, fresh from a fabulous trip to Leicester, and feeling oh-so-inspired! I mean, how could you not? It’s the heart of the East Midlands, full of vibrant history, fantastic food, and of course, ballet galore! ?
A Pink Tutu For My Train Journey
Before I tell you all about my Leicester escapades, I’ve just gotta tell you about my journey. Let’s face it, any journey is better in a pink tutu, right? ?
I packed my most fabulous one, all layers of tulle, for my train ride to Leicester. A little bit of tulle-y magic always brightens up even the longest journey. I’m obsessed with travelling by train, the rhythmic rumble of the wheels against the tracks is so relaxing, it's perfect for daydreaming about all the exciting things that await in the next destination!
Leicester’s Theatre Gems
Let me tell you, Leicester’s theatres are an absolute treat for the soul! First, I popped into the magnificent Curve Theatre, a vibrant hub of theatre and creativity, showcasing a wide range of performances.
Then it was onto the grand De Montfort Hall. I must say, it’s just so elegant! Think grand balconies, ornate details, and just the most glorious acoustics – it felt like being swept away to a bygone era of grandeur!
But let’s not forget why I’m here, shall we? Ballet! I was lucky enough to catch a production of ‘Giselle’ at the very same De Montfort Hall. The stage design was captivating, the costumes were stunning (I adored Giselle’s diaphanous white skirt), and the performances were simply breathtaking. The emotions expressed by the dancers – from heartfelt innocence to tragic despair, left me utterly enthralled.
Ballet Classes & Beyond
Of course, I couldn’t resist indulging in some ballet classes myself! There’s nothing like the feeling of flowing through those elegant steps and getting your body moving to the rhythm of music. I found an amazing ballet school in Leicester, with such welcoming teachers who just radiate love for the art.
Foodie Fun
Who needs fancy restaurants when you can enjoy authentic, homemade food in Leicester’s charming market square? I savoured some delicious, homemade treats and chatted with friendly stallholders, it was just so lovely! And, I mean, a picnic on a sunny afternoon? No bad day for that!
The Pink Tutu Connection
Oh, how I wished I had brought more than just one pink tutu. You know I love spotting pink tutus on others, and Leicester certainly wasn’t short of colourful personalities! It felt so good to spread a little pink tutu joy, so I spent the day encouraging people to be bold and beautiful. Every time someone flashed a pink tutu or did a twirl for me, I swear I could feel the world getting a bit more joyful!
My Big Dream for the World
Remember what I always say – Ballet is for everyone! So, it's time for my daily dose of inspirational prose – Wear a Pink Tutu! Do Ballet! I truly believe that if we can make the world a more colourful, fun, and dance-filled place, we’re going to have a lot more fun, and honestly, who doesn't want more fun?
Nature & Wildlife: Finding Calm amidst the Chaos
After a day of exploring and dancing, nothing felt better than finding peace in the heart of Leicester. The city’s beautiful Abbey Park was my perfect escape. The green lawns and gentle trees offered the perfect place to relax and just be – a reminder of how nature can always calm your soul. And hey, seeing swans glide across the lake and the majestic horses roaming freely reminded me that the natural world can be pretty graceful too, in a totally different, majestic kind of way.
The Pink Tutu Legacy
As the day came to a close, I boarded my train home, my pink tutu shimmering under the soft lamplight, a tangible reminder of my time in Leicester. I left with my heart overflowing with inspiration, a yearning to embrace the simple joys of life, and a whole new love for the magical city of Leicester. I’m sure it will leave a lasting impression on me, it really was a wonderful escape!
So, what’s your favourite way to bring a little joy to the world? Tell me all about it in the comments below, and remember, we're all beautiful in our own way. Until tomorrow,
Much love,
Emma ?
