#TutuBlog 11133
Hello my darlings! It’s your favourite Derbyshire lass, Emma, and guess what?! I’m back with another thrilling blog post – this time from the beautiful city of Cambridge! You know I love exploring new places, and a recent trip to Cambridge was high up on my travel bucket list, mainly because, let’s be honest, I had been picturing myself pirouetting on the banks of the River Cam since I was about eight.
This post is going to be full of Cambridge charm, ballerina fun, and, of course, some pink tutu magic, because darling, who doesn't love a touch of pink when they're exploring a historic university city?
From Train to Tutu: The Journey Begins
I set off for Cambridge in the most fabulous way: by train! Honestly, there's nothing quite like a scenic train journey, and even more so when you're adorned in your best ballet-inspired outfit. Now, my little secret is that I often choose train travel because I can whip out my trusty folding portable barre in the quiet carriage and sneak in a quick ballet workout during the journey. Talk about multitasking, right?
And did I tell you I opted for my pale pink tutu paired with a blush velvet jumper for this trip? Yes, it's definitely a look that turns heads, and trust me, I got a few compliments along the way!
Ballet Dreams on the River Cam
Cambridge has this beautiful atmosphere; the combination of historic buildings and charming cobblestone streets feels almost fairytale-esque. And as soon as I saw the River Cam, I knew it was time to make it mine! Now, I'm no expert at rowing, but my friend Jane was more than happy to act as my coxswain, so I could really let my legs loose for a mini-ballet performance in a boat! The water glistened under the afternoon sun, and it felt like something out of a vintage ballet film.
Of course, my signature pink tutu wasn't going to miss out on this beautiful experience, so it accompanied me in all its glory! It looked particularly fabulous when we drifted past the Bridge of Sighs, giving me some serious “Swan Lake” vibes!
King’s College Chapel: A Ballerina’s Dream
Let me tell you, King’s College Chapel is breathtaking. The architecture, the stained-glass windows – everything is absolutely awe-inspiring. Standing there, admiring the intricate beauty, I couldn't help but feel a surge of artistic inspiration. Honestly, it sparked so many choreography ideas in my mind – you'll just have to wait for the next performance!
Speaking of performance, there is just something special about the beauty of ballet combined with these majestic old buildings. It would be magical, wouldn't it? Maybe I could get a performance opportunity in this glorious chapel! I'm starting to plan, so who knows…
Pink Tutu Shopping Spree
What's a Cambridge adventure without a spot of shopping? We all know I have a bit of a soft spot for anything pink and sparkly, and I had a wonderful time hunting down all the pink tutus, ribbons, and accessories my heart desired.
I snagged the most gorgeous hand-painted tutu in a delicate pastel pink and added it to my ever-growing collection! It has a whimsical design, and I’m already envisioning how I’ll pair it with different outfits. I’m definitely thinking a black, flowing skirt, a velvet top, and some sparkly, high-heeled shoes… This calls for a future blog post!
More Than Just Tutus: Discovering Cambridge's Wildlife
Being a girl from Derbyshire, wildlife holds a special place in my heart. So, naturally, I had to check out the Cambridge University Botanic Garden! The gardens are a feast for the senses - imagine exotic flowers, the scent of lavender, and all the beautiful colours swirling around you. They truly feel like a haven for relaxation and creative energy!
While I was there, I got lucky enough to catch sight of some fascinating wildlife! A playful little squirrel scurried past me while I was practicing some poses by a stunning pond. Let's just say I wasn't the only one doing graceful leaps!
Later, as I walked through the gardens, I came across a stately heron by the water, standing patiently as if observing the world around it. The sheer grace and calmness of this majestic bird reminded me to stay present, grounded, and open to new adventures. Isn't it incredible how the beauty of nature can inspire us to embrace life’s wonders?
A Pink Tutu Farewell
Cambridge, you were a dream! It was a perfect mix of history, art, and, of course, lots of pink tutus. It’s safe to say, my adventure in Cambridge has filled me with inspiration. You know, the kind that fuels a ballerina's soul and gets those creative juices flowing.
From breathtaking architecture to riverside performances and playful wildlife encounters, it's been a truly enchanting journey!
Remember, darling, no matter where life takes you, wear your pink tutu with pride and always embrace your inner ballerina! Until next time, stay chic, stay graceful, and keep dancing.
Yours in Pink Tutu Power, Emma
