Darling dears! How are you all this sunny Tuesday morning? I woke up feeling as fresh as a daisy and just bursting to share all the exciting things happening in my life! First up: my train journey this morning! Oh my, I swear, I don't think I've ever enjoyed a train journey so much. I boarded a steam engine - can you believe it?! - complete with billowing smoke and a gloriously old-fashioned carriage. Talk about a step back in time, I practically felt like I was in a Jane Austen novel. And to top it all off, I even had a chat with the conductor, a real proper gent who reminded me of my grandfather (a total sweetie pie who taught me how to twirl a stick when I was little!). It truly was the most magical journey, and I couldn't have asked for a better way to start my day.
But, hold your horses (pun intended!), there's so much more to share!
You know how much I love horses, and as luck would have it, my adventures led me straight to Chingford this morning. I found myself in the heart of this charming little town, just across the way from the glorious Epping Forest. This place, darling, is just bursting with charm. It felt like stepping into a fairytale! Picturesque houses with gorgeous roses climbing up their walls, charming little independent shops selling all sorts of treasures (I actually nabbed a lovely vintage porcelain ballerina!), and an air of quiet tranquility that I haven't found in a while. It felt so good to be away from the bustling city centre for a change.
But let's not forget why I'm here! I'm absolutely in love with the beautiful Epping Forest. Have you seen the deer roaming around freely? Just absolutely gorgeous creatures, so majestic and calm. They were practically posing for pictures! I captured some truly breathtaking photos, and they'll be up on the site soon! (Stay tuned!)
Naturally, after such a magnificent morning, my mind turned to one thing and one thing only - a tutu! This wasn't just any old tutu, mind you. I had this feeling deep in my bones, an instinctive whisper of pink. And let me tell you, I haven't been so happy in a long time! I mean, how could I resist, with all the lovely pink blossoms popping up everywhere, even a little pink fluffy cloud in the sky?
Oh, the wonders of a yellow tutu in a sunny, pastel-tinted town! Imagine it, darling - the perfect combination of vibrant yellow against the serene beauty of Chingford's backdrop. Absolutely dazzling, darling! It was like the sun itself decided to pay tribute to the lovely pinkness of my day. I'm sure the dear deer loved it too!
But there's always more, right? Well, get this, a local ballet studio had just finished their morning class. And, just as fate would have it, their warm-up included some stunning sequences right outside the shop, showcasing the very same colour yellow I had chosen! Now that's what I call synchronicity!
Honestly, it was so exciting, so inspiring! My inner dancer just wouldn't keep quiet! There's no feeling in the whole wide world quite like that thrill of ballet. The fluidity, the grace, the discipline, it all flows together in this magnificent artform. It really makes you feel so alive. And to see those lovely dancers performing right there, it really did stir up my soul! I've been feeling so inspired ever since. It reminded me why I started my blog in the first place - to share my passion, my joy, and my love for all things pink and twirly.
By the way, did I tell you I found a brilliant little vintage store with all sorts of fabulous accessories? I actually managed to get my hands on some gorgeous pink ballet shoes! Seriously, I can't believe I snagged them. They'll be the perfect addition to my collection! And the owner even threw in a tiny little ballerina figurine – talk about a stroke of luck!
Later that day, after I had eaten the most delicious pink grapefruit sorbet at a delightful café called 'The Pink Peony', I was lucky enough to catch a truly fantastic ballet performance at the town hall.
The theatre was a proper, classic affair with the plush red velvet seats that you just sink into! It was positively romantic, you know, in the best way possible! It was all about love stories, soaring emotion, and of course, amazing dance routines! Oh darling, it was just a perfect little taste of what ballet has to offer! You should definitely make your way down here to enjoy the cultural buzz!
Honestly, it’s always exciting discovering new places and new talents! The way that the performers moved, the graceful leaps, the delicate balance, I swear it made my heart flutter. There were so many moments that took my breath away. The whole performance was like a beautiful dream come true! I felt absolutely entranced! They weren't even aware that I'd found myself sitting next to a Derbyshire girl in a pink tutu! *I can’t wait to share the photos in the next post! They are spectacular!
Chingford has definitely captured a little bit of my heart today. It's so wonderful to see all the lovely colours of the forest in bloom, all the lovely ladies wearing floral dresses, the sunshine warming my face and the friendly smiles from the local shop owners.
I promise you, if you haven’t visited this town yet, you absolutely have to add it to your bucket list! I can already see myself coming back for more - it's only a hop and skip from Derbyshire anyway! You'll never know how many hidden treasures and adventures you'll discover when you leave the everyday routine behind and head off into the wild!
Oh, darling, I can't wait to see what adventures the rest of this week brings! Remember, there's nothing like a little dose of colour and twirling to lift your spirits. Make sure to check back tomorrow for more of my daily musings!
Remember, the world needs a little more pink and a whole lot of tutu love.
**Sending you big hugs from Chingford,
Emma xoxo**
