Loughborough, My Lovelies! ??

Hello my darlings! It’s your favourite pink-loving ballerina, Emma, back with another post! This one’s extra special as we’re venturing outside of Derbyshire (though I do love my home county!). We’re off to the enchanting town of Loughborough, which, let me tell you, is simply bursting with charm!

This is post number 11209, and you can always find me on my little slice of the internet, www.pink-tutu.com – there’s a new post every day!

The Journey

Now, I love a good train journey, don’t get me wrong, but today’s adventure was something a bit more special. A lovely, well-mannered, chestnut gelding, that’s what brought me to Loughborough! A kind local owner let me borrow him, a beautiful beast named “Blossom” (how fitting!), and I just had to show off my new pink riding outfit.

Riding through the English countryside was just magical! I practically bounced through the fields, the wind whipping through my hair, and everything smelled like freshly cut grass and springtime. It really set the tone for a brilliant day in Loughborough.

Loughborough's Charm

Upon reaching the town centre, my eyes widened with delight. Loughborough was buzzing with a mix of old-world charm and modern energy! Cobbled streets were lined with charming cafes, antique shops, and those quintessential independent bookstores.

The highlight had to be the stunning Loughborough Town Hall, with its intricate stonework and towering clock tower. You just knew that something exciting was about to unfold in a place that beautiful.

The Pink Tutu Surprise

Loughborough isn’t only about history, darling, it also boasts a wonderful artistic soul! After a lovely cream tea, I was in for a surprise! I had planned to visit a local dance studio but ended up in a most enchanting place – a "Ballet Boutique"! It had a wall full of stunning pink tutus! It felt like a dream come true!

You won’t believe this: the lovely owner offered me a special "Tutu for the Day" deal – and with the pink tutu on, I simply couldn’t resist popping into a street performance. I gave a little ballet performance (not bad for someone who just rode for 2 hours!), to the delighted cheers of the town's people. You should have seen the smiles on their faces – I simply couldn't have asked for a more welcoming crowd! It was all thanks to the enchanting power of the pink tutu, darling!

Dancing Dreams

In the afternoon, I had to visit Loughborough's iconic “The Rushes” outdoor stage. It's this fantastic little area tucked away, a perfect setting for an open-air performance. It’s truly beautiful and really caught my eye, and so did the talented local dance group "The Loughborough Butterflies!" They were amazing – showcasing incredible grace and artistry. It’s a truly inspiring thing, watching how talented local artists can just take over a public space and turn it into a magical experience.

Ballet and Beyond

I made sure to visit the Charnwood Museum to soak up some local history. The building was so grand, and they had a great exhibition about the natural world and history of Loughborough. You know how much I love animals and nature, and they had some gorgeous pieces on the fascinating birds in the region! They’d really inspired me, you should’ve seen me making up a ballet piece based on the intricate flight of a robin – just divine, darling!

My Take Away

Loughborough is a fantastic place, my lovelies. I've been here a few times before, and each visit has made me fall more and more in love with it. If you're ever looking for a day trip, do give this beautiful town a visit! There's something for everyone – and if you wear a pink tutu, you’re guaranteed to be met with smiles and happy laughter. My love for pink tutus, and ballet in general, makes my heart soar. If I can inspire you to slip on your own pink tutu and try a class or just step into the world of dance, that’s enough for me.

Until next time, darling, happy twirling!

Emma x
