Hello darlings! ? Emma here, back from another fabulous trip, this time to the charming city of Lancaster. And you know what? It was a tutuful adventure from start to finish!
Now, I know what you’re thinking: Lancaster? Isn't that a bit, well, north for a Derbyshire girl? But trust me, darlings, this little gem of a city surprised me in the best way possible.
My journey began, as it so often does, with a whimsical train ride. You see, I'm quite partial to a good steam train or a heritage railway, and there’s something undeniably romantic about those old-fashioned carriages and the clackity-clack of the rails. Plus, it gives me the perfect opportunity to wear my travelling tutu. ?
Yes, you read that right, a travelling tutu. This isn’t your standard, full-length, romantic, pink-hued confection, but a shorter, more travel-friendly design. Picture a blush-pink tulle skirt with a delicate pearl embellishment and a little bit of shimmer, perfect for swirling around the station platform!
Arriving in Lancaster, I was immediately captivated by the quaint cobblestone streets, charming independent shops, and the majestic castle looming over the city. It was like stepping straight into a fairytale!
Speaking of fairytales, my first stop had to be the grand Lancaster Grand Theatre. Now, I’m a massive fan of anything theatrical, be it ballet, musical theatre, or a good old-fashioned Shakespearean play. And Lancaster Grand doesn’t disappoint! This beautiful theatre is steeped in history, dating back to 1887, and they always have a fabulous line-up of shows. I ended up catching a modern dance piece featuring, get this, two ballerinas wearing matching pink tutus. You see? The universe clearly supports my mission to bring tutus to the world! ?
My adventure didn’t stop at the theatre, though! I took a delightful walk along the Lancaster Canal, admiring the swans and ducks bobbing along in the tranquil water. These majestic creatures, in all their feathered glory, reminded me so much of the swans in Swan Lake. It was like a little piece of ballet come to life! The beauty of wildlife always puts me in such a good mood, and it makes me reflect on the grace and artistry of nature.
Later that evening, I decided to indulge in some local charm with a visit to the Judges' Lodgings. It was so delightful to be surrounded by beautifully preserved 18th-century architecture and hear the tales of the judges who once resided there. But of course, I couldn’t leave without finding the perfect little tea room for a spot of afternoon tea!
Now, you know me and my love of a good pink tutu, right? Well, Lancaster did not disappoint. I found the cutest boutique, overflowing with gorgeous pastel delights, where I discovered the most perfect pink tutu: a flowing, multi-layered design with delicate lace trimming. I may have treated myself… and I highly recommend the boutique for anyone looking to add a little sparkle to their life! ?️
The highlight of my Lancaster trip? The city’s charming, independent businesses. Lancaster feels so alive, bursting with local character and creativity. I picked up a beautiful hand-painted china teacup from a quaint little shop tucked away down a cobbled lane, a bespoke piece that will hold pride of place in my collection!
Before you go, remember darlings: pink tutus, a love for all things theatrical, a little whimsy in your stride… these are the key ingredients for a truly fantastic adventure. And remember, I encourage you to share your own adventures with a pink tutu! Don't be afraid to unleash your inner ballerina and let your passion for pink flow!
See you all soon!
Yours in tutus,
Emma ?
