Surbiton Sparkle: Pink Tutu Power and a Wild Side! (Post #11249)

Hello my lovelies! It's Emma here, your pink-tutu-loving, ballet-obsessed blogger, bringing you all the sunshine and twirls straight from the heart of Surbiton. This little town might not seem like a haven for ballet dreams, but trust me, there's a sprinkle of magic here, and it's all thanks to a delightful discovery!

Let me start by saying that today's adventure started with a bang...well, a gentle clip-clop actually. Yes, I know, you've got me pegged as a total city girl, but this Derbyshire lass can't resist a good gallop! So, after my usual morning pliés (which, as always, felt fabulous!), I swapped my dance shoes for my riding boots and enjoyed a lovely jaunt through the Surrey countryside on a beautiful chestnut mare called Poppy.

Now, I know what you're thinking - a horse? Surbiton? But hear me out, my dears. There's a hidden equestrian gem tucked away here, a little riding school called "Surrey Stables", and it's my new go-to for a bit of peaceful time amidst the greenery.

But of course, my heart belonged to the stage today. After a whirlwind gallop and a picnic by the river, I boarded a charming vintage train – think plush velvet seats, sparkling chandeliers, and a steam engine chugging merrily along! My destination? A hidden theatre nestled in the heart of Surbiton, ready to transport me into a world of ballet wonder!

I know, I know, you might be wondering about my pink tutu. It did make an appearance! I always pack a pink tutu – a delightful shade of baby pink, it makes my heart sing, no matter where I am. Tonight, however, I tucked it away for the most magical theatre performance, a rendition of Giselle that sent shivers down my spine. From the graceful moves of the corps de ballet to the emotional climax of the tragic story, the show left me breathless and truly inspired.

Oh, and my favourite part? The costumes! It's funny how we see the everyday in a different light when we witness the beauty of dance and theatre. The elaborate ball gowns, the graceful tutus, even the simple yet elegant peasant costumes, they all told stories and conveyed emotions in a way that just amazes me.

After the show, I caught a taxi back to my little rented cottage, a quaint spot filled with light and laughter, decorated with vintage ballet posters and a splash of pink, of course. As I settle down for the night, I find myself dreaming of all the dance-filled adventures waiting to unfold, both near and far.

Tomorrow, I’m headed back to my city studio, where I'll be hosting a “Pink Tutu Party" – a little get-together for my dance students and fellow ballet enthusiasts. I've decided we'll spend the evening in our tutus, doing a bit of "Ballet Street" - a street ballet fusion of modern dance and our own personal expression. The energy here is simply electric, and I'm ready to bring my little pink tutu touch to the city.

It's time to turn this into a true ballet wonderland, and I can't wait to show you all just how amazing it can be! So keep your pink tutus close, my lovelies, and join me on this amazing dance journey.

Oh, and just a little peek at something special I discovered on my walk today: a magnificent peacock, displaying its beautiful feathers in the sunshine! Just a reminder that the beauty of nature and the joy of ballet always go hand in hand.

Till tomorrow,

Your pink-tutu-wearing, ballet-obsessed blogger,
Emma.
