Hello my darling tutu-lovers! ?? Emma here, back with you from the vibrant city of Kingswood! Today's been a whirlwind of pink-hued joy, from tutus galore to a cheeky encounter with a curious squirrel!
Let's rewind a bit... this morning began, as all good days should, with a hearty Derbyshire breakfast of oatcakes and jam. ? After packing my essentials (you know, the usual: ballet shoes, pink lipstick, a spare tutu… just in case!), I set off on my favourite mode of transport – a steam train! The rhythmic chugging of the engine and the scent of coal smoke filled the air, reminding me of childhood train journeys to ballet class. ??
Reaching Kingswood, the city felt electric with a creative energy that I just couldn't resist. I was on a mission to check out their famous Ballet Street scene. I'm talking performers, dancers, teachers, everyone and their gran in a tutu! This is my happy place! ??
My first stop was The Twirling Swan Boutique, where I picked up a bewitching new tutu, a lilac dream with shimmering pink sequins. It was love at first sight. ? Honestly, this was a must-have, as I'm planning to perform in it at the grand Ballet Under The Stars event this weekend, so I'll keep you all updated! ?
Lunch was at "The Pointe", a café where everyone, from ballet students to seasoned professionals, gathered over steaming cups of chai. They talked passionately about their performances and even about a wildlife sanctuary just outside the city! The idea of meeting animals in a beautiful setting sounded perfect, so off I went! ???
The sanctuary was an oasis of peace. I got to feed a shy but fluffy bunny, who seemed particularly fond of my tutu! (Not to mention the cute squirrel that peeked at me from behind a tree.) What a wonderful way to connect with nature! ?️?
But the day wasn’t over yet! My highlight was an impromptu performance in the centre square. A group of street dancers were teaching everyone a new routine, and you can imagine, my feet were itching to join in. So, there I was, twirling under the afternoon sun, in my new lilac tutu, with the biggest smile on my face! ? I even taught a little boy some ballet steps. Isn’t it amazing how a simple act like dancing can bring so much joy and laughter?
After a whirlwind of dancing, it was time to indulge in some proper Kingswood delicacies. Imagine: juicy pear tarts, creamy chai ice cream, and, of course, a large slice of strawberry cake, all consumed whilst admiring the pink and purple hues of the setting sun over the city. ??
As I write this blog post, the gentle rhythm of Kingswood is a melody that's deeply etched in my heart. I truly feel a strong connection with this charming city. And of course, I’m still glowing after all that ballet and nature time. It’s nights like this that remind me why I live for this magical combination of ballet, travel and all things pink! ✨
But that’s not all my dears. Tomorrow is the grand "Ballet Under The Stars" performance, and I can't wait to show you all what I've got! Make sure you're following my adventures at www.pink-tutu.com! And don’t forget: Life is short, wear a tutu, and take every opportunity to dance! ?
Until tomorrow, love Emma! ?
