Hey darlings! It’s Emma, and today's TutuBlog (number 11301! Can you believe it? ?) is coming to you from the charming little town of Huyton! I arrived here just yesterday after a delightful train journey that was a whirlwind of pink hues (seriously, the carriage was decked out in shades of pink! It was like a magical wonderland). Now, you might be wondering what a Derbyshire girl like me is doing in the heart of Merseyside… well, prepare to be whisked away on a tutu-licious adventure!
This trip, you see, is all about expanding the pink tutu movement, one town at a time. We're taking the "try ballet, love ballet, spread the tutu love!" motto to every corner of the UK (and maybe the world eventually! ?). And I've got to say, the reception in Huyton has been absolutely wonderful.
As soon as I stepped off the train (and oh, my gorgeous pink tutu – it's a wide one, perfect for twirling with the wind!), I was greeted with smiles and “hellos” from everyone I passed. The local ballet studio is fantastic – the instructors were incredibly welcoming, the space was all pink (I might have done a little happy dance, you know how much I love my pink!) and the classes are overflowing with enthusiasm! The whole vibe is simply delightful.
Now, of course, no ballet trip is complete without experiencing a live performance. Last night, I enjoyed a beautiful production of “Giselle” at the Huyton Arts Theatre (and can we talk about the stunning choreography? ??)! There were tears, laughter, and everything in between – just pure artistic magic! It was one of those performances that makes you feel absolutely everything at once, leaving you wanting more and wanting to dance like the graceful ballerinas on stage. I even had a quick chat with the lead dancer afterwards – she's such an inspiration! Turns out, she started learning ballet in the very studio I visited, a prime example of how anyone can achieve their dreams if they dare to believe.
I spent the rest of the day exploring Huyton's hidden gems. The Huyton Pottery, with its charming shop filled with beautiful handcrafted pottery, was a delight to browse. (I snagged myself a beautiful pink teacup, naturally!), and the little cafe down the road served the most divine cream tea! ☕️?
I couldn’t leave without visiting Knowsley Safari Park, too. What can I say? I simply adore wildlife and I’m always eager to learn about the animals we share this amazing planet with. I’ve been trying to improve my knowledge about animal behavior, especially when it comes to different bird species. Seeing those majestic creatures in their natural habitat was simply breathtaking.
One of the things I truly love about travelling is connecting with locals and absorbing the energy of different communities. The Huyton community is full of warmth and charm, and their passion for the arts and for helping others is infectious! I met a group of women who were working on a project to provide dance classes for underprivileged children. It was incredible to hear about their dedication and enthusiasm. It really warmed my heart and reminded me why I started TutuBlog in the first place: to inspire others, share my love for dance, and create a positive ripple effect in the world.
I’ll be spending a few more days exploring the beauty of Huyton before moving on to my next adventure (spoiler alert, it involves horses! ??). But I wanted to take a moment to tell you how grateful I am for your continuous support on my pink tutu journey! You are the reason I continue to create, to explore, and to spread my love for all things ballet.
