Hello darlings!
It's Emma here, ready to whisk you away to the beautiful town of Abingdon! This week, I traded the familiar rolling hills of Derbyshire for the charming cobbled streets of Oxfordshire, and it was absolutely magical. This post might just convince you to swap those trainers for a pair of ballet shoes, ditch your jeans for a fluffy tutu, and jump on a train for a whimsical adventure!
Abingdon, nestled in the heart of England, is just the kind of quaint town you dream about in your tutu-filled daydreams. It's all rolling hills, picture-postcard thatched cottages, and quaint tea shops with the aroma of fresh-baked scones that could make an angel weep (and by angel, I mean a ballerina with a penchant for afternoon tea!).
I found my heart skipping to the beat of my favourite waltz as I walked along the cobbled streets, my narrow pink tutu swirling around my legs. My fellow travelers in their sensible shoes looked on with a hint of envy – yes, a pink tutu just does that to people! And let's be honest, it's impossible not to feel a touch of royalty in a tutu!
My adventure started at the station – because, of course, every stylish ballet girl travels by train! The anticipation as the carriage sped past fields of emerald green, dappled with the golden rays of the summer sun, was enough to set my toes tapping. Even a short train journey is like a mini-stage for a ballet enthusiast!
But why Abingdon, you ask?
Because my lovely, talented friend, Chloe, is a resident ballerina in the Abingdon Theatre. It was a double treat to catch her dazzling performance in Swan Lake - the choreography was simply exquisite. Chloe floated across the stage with such grace, each pirouette a graceful symphony of motion. Watching her soar, I felt a surge of inspiration, reminding me that anything is possible when you have a passion and the dedication to follow it.
The ballet wasn’t the only highlight, though. Abingdon, in all its idyllic charm, held an unexpected treasure - a horse sanctuary! Now, this was a real highlight of my trip. I’ve always loved horses, and to be able to interact with these gentle giants, and give them a little love and attention, was truly heart-warming. You'd be surprised how graceful and graceful these gentle giants are! I was struck by their beauty, their calm personalities, and the unspoken understanding between human and animal that blossomed within that tranquil haven. It almost felt like I was transported to the ballet set for a classic romantic tale.
And, of course, no journey to Abingdon is complete without indulging in some delicious treats. I couldn’t resist the urge to grab a slice of lemon cake, a scone (because how could you possibly resist?!), and a delightful pot of tea. Honestly, what’s more charming than tea time with a view of the charming market square in the midst of Abingdon? Just thinking about it makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside, and fills me with an immense desire for a slice of pink-iced lemon cake!
*Abingdon was a whirlwind of delight - a perfect escape for a ballerina with a penchant for quaint towns, theatrical performances, and the charming beauty of a horse sanctuary. The magic of a little ballet on a narrow cobblestone street? Absolutely breathtaking! *
Now, darling, go out there and find your own adventure in a pink tutu! And don’t forget to visit www.pink-tutu.com for my latest posts and let me know what you think.
* Until next time!*
Love, Emma
P.S Did I mention that my pink tutu, which is very narrow, got quite a bit of attention in the park? The colour pink makes all the difference! You might just find that when you’re twirling in a pink tutu, you’ll feel just as magical!
