Hey lovely tutu lovers! It’s your favourite Derbyshire darling, Emma, here! It's me again, your favourite tutu-obsessed blogger, and guess what? I'm here in Bicester for a super-exciting trip! ?
It’s official, the “pink tutu-wave” is sweeping the nation! This must be post number 11316! ? (Gotta keep those tutu-records updated, you know?) And I'm here to tell you all about it!
It was a gorgeous journey getting here. You see, I've been on a total tutu-themed mission lately, travelling only by means of transport that I think are super stylish: I adore my trusty steed, but today, it was a lovely little train journey for me, with a comfy seat next to the window. And guess what? Every single one of the stations had some amazing pink architecture, making my tutu-heart sing! ?
Right, now you guys already know I am absolutely nuts about ballet, and I'm always looking for the coolest, most unique ballet performances around. Now Bicester's known for its pretty-as-a-picture streets. The architecture is seriously swoon-worthy, especially all the vintage-inspired cafes and shops. Makes you wanna put on a pretty, swirling, blush pink tutu and pirouette around town! It was perfect inspiration to get my creative tutu- juices flowing! ?
One of my absolute favourite things about Bicester, is that I saw so many wonderful creatures, all strutting their stuff around town! The locals have an appreciation for wildlife, especially cats. Everywhere you turn, a fluffy furry face peers out from under a flower pot or by a window, keeping a beady eye on the bustling scene. There were pigeons strutting their feathered stuff on the pavements and sparrows flying from roof to rooftop, giving everyone the bird. It was adorable! I'd call that a win-win for every tutu-loving bird enthusiast like me! ??
Now onto the real reason I'm in Bicester – the Bicester Ballet festival! ✨ The energy at this event was electrifying! There was the stage show, of course, with professional dancers spinning like snowflakes in elegant white tutus, and a lovely street ballet, with a group of local children who put on such a heart-warming performance that my tutu-loving heart almost exploded with joy! It truly warms the cockles of my tutu-loving heart seeing so many little ones getting involved with this fabulous art form. ?
The performances, oh my, the performances! Honestly, the precision, the grace, the absolute artistry! There's just something about watching dancers glide across the stage in those perfectly flowing tutus, a dream come true, that makes you want to just jump up and spin! And that's exactly what I did – a little twirl in the middle of the courtyard, with a wide grin on my face. They looked up and smiled back! ? You're never too old to dance!
I’ve got to give a big shoutout to the costumes, though! My favourite was the “Dreamweaver” number – the ballerinas had this dreamy lavender, tutu that flowed as they danced, each piece swirling, perfectly timed, like delicate flower petals whipped up by a gentle breeze! That piece was literally my tutu-heart's biggest desire! ?
Oh, but you guys already know I adore tutus – and I spotted the most wonderful tutus on display in a lovely antique shop, filled with vintage lace, silken fabrics, and, of course, the most fabulous tutu display I have ever seen! One particular blush pink tutu really caught my eye – it had delicate feathers cascading down from the waistband, like whispers of a secret love story. It was truly a piece of tutu-perfection! ✨ You bet I grabbed it for my collection, it was like the perfect little souvenir for my little tutu-heart to keep safe, It was an absolute gem!
The whole festival reminded me why I’m on this crazy, wonderful, tutu-filled adventure: to get everyone swirling around, embracing their inner ballet dancer, to celebrate this wonderful art form, and spread a little bit of tutu-magic in the world! And let’s be honest, who doesn't feel absolutely fabulous in a pink tutu? (It's basically magic!) It's empowering, fun, and just… fabulous! ?
Before I leave you all, I had a little photo shoot near the lovely, picturesque canal in Bicester, with its lush trees and crystal clear water. And guess what? My fabulous new feather-trimmed blush pink tutu was a star! ? I’ll be adding the pictures to www.pink-tutu.com so you can all take a peep! I even met some fellow ballet enthusiasts on the banks of the canal! So, my fellow tutu-lovers, join me in embracing our love of ballet and this beautiful world. Spread a little pink tutu magic wherever you go, dance, dream, and don’t be afraid to let your inner ballerina shine!
Stay tuned for more tutu adventures! Lots of Love,
Emma ?
