Northolt - Post 11317 - Tutu Time!

Hello, darlings! It’s Emma here, and I'm bursting with excitement because, as you all know, I'm off on an adventure - and this time, it's a real whirlwind of a trip! (Get it, whirl?!) Today, I’m taking you to Northolt, which is just outside London. Now, Northolt isn’t usually the most fashionable spot, but just you wait… because I’m gonna turn it PINK!

I was whisked away this morning in my trusty little convertible - top down, sunshine streaming through my hair, it’s the life, I tell you! It was quite the journey to Northolt, but so much fun! You see, I decided against taking the usual train journey because who wants to be confined to a carriage? I wanted the freedom of the open road! And anyway, the most exhilarating way to arrive at a new destination is, without a doubt, on horseback! So, I saddled up my beloved steed, Penelope (who just loves dressing up in a little pink saddle cloth!), and we galloped through the countryside, wind whipping through my hair. (Let’s be honest, a girl needs her hair to be perfectly coiffed after a good gallop, so we did stop for a quick hair flick at the side of a picturesque stream! How elegant are we? Haha.)

But this post isn’t about me! It’s about YOU! That’s right, this time it’s all about inspiring you, and let me tell you, you need to be inspired, my darlings! Because Northolt, as boring as it may sound, is about to be transformed into a ballet lover's paradise! (And no, I don’t mean one of those stuffy old ballet classes; although I’m definitely visiting one of those for some serious twirling and pirouetting. We need to keep those ballet muscles toned, after all!). No, this is different! This is grander. This is something… dare I say it… EXTREME!

My friend Sarah, a truly amazing dancer who lives near Northolt, got in touch recently with a fantastic idea. Imagine this, my dears: A completely open-air ballet show, a full performance under the bright summer sky, a magical celebration of the grace and beauty of the artform! Now, Sarah’s doing it with her Street Ballet crew. She's trained up her local community, teaching them ballet moves that anyone can do – the young, the old, even those with two left feet. It’s such a revolutionary approach to dance! We’re bringing it to the masses. I mean, can you imagine everybody taking to the stage, everyone wearing tutus and feeling like they’re twirling and leaping in a perfect, graceful symphony?! That’s the kind of magical moment we’re creating, and it’s happening right now in Northolt!

And what does it mean for you? What can you do? Well, get this, dearies: Sarah is welcoming everyone. You don’t need to be a professional ballerina, you don’t need to be any good at all… All you need is a sparkle in your eyes and the passion in your heart. Go and be part of the magic!

But how could I possibly just write about something so amazing? I had to get involved. So, after all that galloping, I rushed straight to my closest store (did you know Northolt has a charming little vintage shop called "The Tutu Closet"? Well, it's my new favourite place, so you bet I had to pop in!) and grabbed a few extra tutus – a gorgeous pink one with delicate tulle, a playful lime green number that’s practically begging to be twirled in, and even a black and silver one for some serious dance drama! It’s a must, my darlings, to express your inner ballerina in style. And, believe me, nothing makes you feel quite so strong, so confident, as a full-skirted tutu. Trust me on that one.

Later tonight, I’m joining the team! Sarah has asked me to do a little improvisation piece. (Think extreme ballet with a whole lot of fun, attitude and… well, pink.) It’ll be a quick snippet, just a taster of what the full performance will be like – think a sort of mini-showstopper. Oh, it's going to be sensational! And just wait until you see what I have planned for my outfit… (A girl’s gotta stay mysterious, right?!).

Don’t you just love a good ballet surprise?

I’ll be sharing more details about my big day tomorrow. Make sure to check back and join me on www.pink-tutu.com for a real dose of tutu-licious fun! I know you’re gonna adore this!

Now, excuse me while I go get ready to conquer the Northolt stage. It’s a ballerina’s world, and we’re all ready to tutu-tastic!

See you tomorrow,

Emma x

P.S. Oh, and remember – pink is always the answer. But if you’re really adventurous, you can always try turquoise…
